Site of Tick Bite Inflamed?

Yesterday I noticed that the spot where I was bit by a tick was inflamed - itchy, swollen and red.

Is this part of a herx, or something else? I've been on my new meds the last 2 weeks.

And the thing is I wasn't just bit by a tick in that spot. It was on the back of my neck, and I ripped it out when I felt something weird while putting my hair up. I looked at the spot after it happened and it didn't appear like there was anything there, but now I'm thinking that maybe a part of it remained in my skin? *shudder*

Anyone have a similar experience with their tick bite site? Would love to hear your experiences thanks!

I was bit by a nymph and the bite was inflamed for 3 weeks. I never was one that reacted to bites of any kind.

I have since healed and recently was bit by a mosquito and that bite mark is still there and it has been 2 weeks. I never reacted to bites that badly until my immune system was changed by lyme.

I was bit by a tick two years ago on November 1st. (I remember because it was the day after Halloween.) The tick bit me on my collarbone and died promptly thereafter, never even got any blood from me and it came off my aunt's husky.
It hasn't popped up for a couple months. But every once in a while it would start itching again and become red for up to a year and a half!!! My grandmother said this happened to her once too! It was there for 2 years. I think it had to do with my immune system and the fact I was already sick with Lyme & Co.
Never noticed it coming and going with herxes though. It just seemed random.
