If someone could differentiate between lyme & y/f symptoms I think they could make some serious money...
The overlap can be extensive. This is why we encourage people to nip the y/f in the bud early and succinctly so that Lyme & co treatment isn't more complicated than it already is.
Reducing the load on the immune system is also helpful and it's nice to experience reduced symptoms. But if you are treating Lyme & co until you're 2-3 months past elimination of your symptoms, and you're not making progress because you're mistaking y/f symptoms for Lyme & co symptoms... you could be treating forever, unnecessarily.
I like Krimpet's questions so it will be interesting to see your responses.
Another question - have you ruled out Babesia? It can cause breathing issues, and these coinfections have a way of popping up when we start or stop treating other coinfections. So that's one possibility.
Also - I'd add that it's best to take antifungals WHILE you're also taking the abx. Yeast and fungus can grow within hours of the abx killing the good bacteria, which works to keep y/f in check. Were you on any anti fungal before? Do you have any history of yeast/fungal overgrowth which could make you susceptible to overgrowth?
Here is some information about
y/f that might help you determine symptoms and remedies:
