So finally got my test results back. Igenex states negative. It also states that if only bands 31 and 41 are present then do the confirmation test #489. It also states that some viral antibodies cross react with 31 & 41 kDa. So I guess I'm going to do the confirmation test.

Everything else was blank.

**31 kDa IND
**41 kDa +++

Have you called them yet? I think they only keep the blood sample for an additional 3 weeks.

Also, someone posted on here a while back that they won't do the test on an IND 31 - hopefully that information isn't correct.


Either way - we know that an IND is a weak positive...and band 31 is a 'significant' band for diagnosing Lyme.
So, even if you can't get the Epitope test done....you're test results are certainly enough to back up your symptoms.

I did some googling...and see some people talking about doing the Epitope test on an IND 31 - hope that is the case.

It hasn't been 3 weeks since I got the results. I plan on calling them tomorrow morning.

Hi Krimpet I don't know much about Igenex test since I live in Europe, but I just want to tell you that as you already know Lyme is clinical diagnosis, so these tests are not always accurate. However, I am always inclined to do them as if they can prove what is happening. So it is good to have result but keep in mind your symptoms.

Krimpet I only had 31 and 41 on the IgM. I had 41 and 58 on the IgG.

I definitely had lyme.... nothing else would have given me those symptoms.

Krimpet, since you herx on some of the herbs you have taken in my personal opinion you should save your money on more testing. We can all test for so much that we have wrong with all of us :). What city do you live in, or major city you are close too? Have you ever checked into Ondamed, or other biofeedback therapy?

I agree with you all that a positive test isn't necessary...but some of us still want it.

I know when I got my Igenex positive, I was happy...tears of joy..

...and my husband was + on bands 31 and 41...and his LLND recommended he do the epitope test...which came back positive... It was worth the $100. Compared to all that we've been spending on lyme - appt.s, abx, supplements...I felt the $100 was a drop in the pan.

Sometimes having it on paper is a security blanket.

But, some people don't care to have it. It's a personal decision.
