Hi Whatisacait,
Welcome to our community! I'm so very sorry that you are in need of us, but I'm so very glad you found us.
After looking at the picture, there is no doubt in my mind that your son has Lyme. No, it does not matter what size the rash is - that's old, outdated information. No it does not matter that it has faded quickly - that too is old information.
As an adult that was infected at the age of 7, but not diagnosed until the age of 44, I commend you on your quick action, and cautiousness - but don't let your child's age, or the misinformation let you slide into complacency, please. Lyme will suck the life out of a person's life. I was never able to go to college, or have a career, or many other things because each thing that created a lot of stress for me made me very ill and often bed bound for 2 - 3 months. That's no way for a child to grow up, take my word for it.
I would encourage you to consider many sources for your information on how to make sure your child is getting proper treatments so that he can heal and have a good life.
Yancync has a lot of good information on their site.
and this is a link to the site of a very well known, and very good Pediatric LLMD:
/sites.google.com/site/drjoneskids/homeOf course, we have quite a few parents with children in this community that can help you along as well.
I know we are all kind of repeating the same information, but that's because it's so very important to catch this quickly and get effective treatments now - not later.
