A common denominator in lyme patients?

I was just thinking, a lot of people with lyme seem to have low iron and sometimes low blood pressure.

I know that could mean a lot of different things but coupled with our other symptoms should be a clue for doctors.

My question is did you also have unexplained low iron?

That was really the only thing that showed up on my blood tests at my MD's.

Also my blood pressure is on the low side.

I've never had a problem with iron or anything, but I tend to run low for BP (90-100/60). It's still within normal limits though. I get head rushes at times when standing up too fast. I also tend to run low with body temperature; 98.6 IS a fever for me!

I have very high bp.

My chiro. says that for many the Lyme strikes at vulnerable stressed areas of our bodies/ health.
Btw: I have low by. And inttermitent anemia.

I had low everything.. Lot Iron, low Selenium, low DHEA, low T, borderline low T3 ...

To go one step further , the common denominator is that "lymies" immune systems develop symptoms.

There are some people who will test positive on many lyme tests, yet they dont have any symptoms (true). So in a sense they dont have lyme "disease" and are not physical ill. There is little info on this.

I know an individual in the timber/paper industry who fits this description. His employer tests everyone, and I guess he is not the only one there like this.

Yep low iron. ..i think cpn ,borrelia ,bartonella and other intercelluar infections are to blame..for low bp dizzyness i chew on licorice (close to aldersterone ) high dose salt

Bill was on something for thyroid already (synthroid?) and our LLMD asked if he would like to try armor thyroid, so he is trying it.

I think my tests were normal because Dr. C did not give me anything before for thyroid, but when he realized that my body temp stayed low all the time, he also put me on armor thyroid.

I will say that I think the armor thyroid is helping with my sleepy-all-the-time issues. My thyroid test was two years ago.

All the T things on the test were in normal range, but one seemed low normal. I really didn't understand anything about those results.

On one page is a Thyroglobulin result and I do not know what is reference and what is my result, but perhaps you do. One was 19.4 an the other was <55. And the Thyroglobulin AB says <1U/mL and <40 IU/ml. There is a note at the bottom about antibodies interfering with these levels and about falsely low values and about interpreting with caution if antibodies are present.

Sorry to be so vague. I wish you lived around the corner so I could invite you for coffee or water (lol) or supplements, and show you the results. :)

Most doctors like to see the FT3 range between 3.2-3.5. Some people feel hyperthyroid in the very upper ranges. I've lived both, hyper and hypo.

Magoo, that may be it for some, but not all those that have Lyme. Lyme left too long in the body will destroy the immune function, so recovery gets harder and harder the longer we have it untreated in our body. Can we still get to a place where we have a nice life? Yes. But we must constantly watch our immune function and work to keep the body balanced.

I still have to visit a holistic dentist (plan to in the fall) but I treated for the other two on your list, Magoo. They haven't made a huge impact in my healing, however, maybe they are all small pieces to recovery. I keep wishing I could find one BIG thing that is making me sick - like mold or my teeth. Those are the two that are on my list. Otherwise, it must just be Lyme and whatever co's I have.
