Hello! It's been awhile since I've been around, but I have a question and so here I am.
For those that may not remember and many new people I don't know, my son has been treating Lyme and coinfections for 2 1/2 years now. I've been saying that he's "almost symptom free" for a long time now, but that's the way it is.
He's had migrating minor and occasional (not often really- 4x/mo or so) joint pain still and sometimes some PANS stuff (not lately, knock on wood). This is what he's dealing with still. It's night and day from the beginning. He was really sick at first-with multiple bad symptoms every day, and just not well. so to be at the point of only minor joint pain maybe 3-5 days in a month is a victory. He feels great, good energy, and is a vibrant playful little 6 year old.
That said... I hate that he still has the minor joint pains occasionally. I'm wanting this ALL gone finally. Sometimes I feel like his llmd isn't on the ball enough; that if some things had been done differently he'd be done with this all by now, but i don't know.
For example, she only started treating him for Babesia this past summer and only started treating him for Protozoa this past August, even though I would bring it up to her before then. He's been treating Lyme and Bart all 2 1/2 years.
Perhaps the ankle and knee pain that he still gets (the past couple of months it's only been those places) perhaps they are from Babesia and/Protozoa and we just haven't been treating long enough (He's not up to his full herbal dose for either yet)? Then also, I discovered mold under our kitchen sink a few weeks ago that has probably been there a long time (year plus?) and maybe this is causing joint pain? I need to get rid of the mold for sure.
I've yet to go 100% gluten free, maybe that would help (although I don't suspect it's the main trigger).
Who knows! There can be so much involved.
But do you think it's weird that his minor ( he can play right through it) occasional joint pain is now usually just in his ankles (usually left, but once in awhile right one too) and knees (again one or the other knee, not at same time)? Or perhaps this is how it works where there are a couple last things to go?
How it goes is he may have 1-3 ankle pains in maybe a week or two period, but then go 3-5 weeks of no pain there- and in that meantime have maybe 1-3 knee pains.
He still takes herbs from Beyond Balance to treat for Lyme, bartonella, Babesia, mycotoxins, and a detox one. And takes Byron Wjite for Protozoa now too.
Thanks for reading and any thoughts.
