I've been using essential oils for some months now, and, while I can't say that they're given me a whole lot of my health back, I can say that there's a strong possibility that they could.
I, like many here, have many issues, there's not just one aspect to my health situation that I need to focus on in order to get better, and I feel that some of those things are standing in the way of the oils doing all that they could for me.
What I can say about them is that they are the best alternative method of combating these infections that I have used thus far. I've tried a slew of different herbs, in whole or pill form, made into teas, tinctures, etc. Nothing has worked as well or as consistently as the oils have. For whatever reason, I'd start taking a certain herb or tincture, and it'd work just fine, but then start to taper off, and I would eventually begin to feel the infections creeping their way back in. But, again, in their defense, there are many things that could play a part in something not working for you.
Anyway, I don't get that with the oils. Right now, at the very least, they've gotten rid of or lessened a few of my symptoms, and are keeping me in one spot, which gives me the opportunity to try and figure things out. I'm praying that this continues to be the case, because I have just about run through all of my options. I can't use tinctures anymore due to fungal/mold issues, multiple chemical sensitivity, something. I have tried so many different herbs. I can't afford a doctor/pharmaceutical medications, like ABX, parasite medications, etc.
I'm kind on my last leg. So, yeah. They've kept me alive, and could ultimately go on to maybe even give me a good level of health back, while I wait until I can afford a doctor and/or the world's response to Lyme changes. One day, I might be able to say that essential oils saved my life. In a way, they already have, but you know what I mean.
But, to wrap things up, what I WAS using for a few months:
Thieves or, if using doTerra's products, On Guard, peppermint, tea tree oil (have heard it's good for biofilms), oregano, lemon, Frankincense.
They worked okay, but I wasn't sure if I was doing things right. Too much can be counterproductive, too little just right, depending on the oil. Combining them could be a good thing, or could render certain oils useless. I didn't feel comfortable throwing things together without some type of order or structure, beyond X amount of drops X times a day.
So, I started looking into the protocols put together by others.. with more of that structure, I kind of drew something up (and am still in the process of doing that actually), and started from there.
I'm using these to try and put something together:

Essential Oils and Lyme (support group)
That's a Facebook group for people with Lyme who're using essential oils to treat. There's a protocol pinned to the front page of it. I would start there.
The protocol listed on the Facebook group is what I'm doing now. Once I get to a certain point with it and other aspects of my health (getting detox and methylation measures more consistent), I plan on using the other links provided to slightly alter what the protocol will have me doing (basically, I am just gonna add an oil or two).
The protocol has you starting on an oil called DDR Prime, which is a blend of a few different herbs. It's strong stuff. Smells like the pink bubblegum too.
You start with one drop on your foot at night, for a week, then two drops the second week, etc. Once you hit 4, then you start doing 1 drop in the morning as well, all the way up to 4. If you find you are herxing too much, it's advised that you stay on the amount of drops or decrease until you feel you can handle more.
Once you get up to 4 in the morning, 4 at night, you start taking them internally.
After a certain amount of time with that, you add in other oils on a 2 week cycle, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off (this is where I plan to do some modification, with different oils and pulsing schedule).
It's like a 7 month thing, all charted out.
If I had to start treatment all over again, I would skip everything else, and start with the oils, joining that Facebook group.
But, again, as you may be aware, it's more than just killing, and, while some of these oils have supportive qualities, you will probably need a number of other supplements along the way. I take a lot of things for digestive issues, methylation, any possible vitamin or mineral deficiencies, etc, and I think a need a lot more, if I'm gonna wanna get much better. That, or just different combinations, timing, something. There's a lot of ways to look at the health picture.
Anyway, I hope that this helps you a little bit. If not, apologies.. and apologies, if it's messy or whatever.
Best wishes!
