I'm so scared. I was doing really well then got a very bad sore throat, stiff neck, sweating, and vomiting. I feel so uncomfortable. It is affecting my mind too. I don't know what to do. Please pray for me.

Are you seeing a Lyme literate MD? And have you started treatments? Are you detoxing?

I am sorry you are feeling so sick. I know it is scary but there is a lot of information on this forum that can help you.

Have you been diagnosed with Lyme? Are there questions we can help you with?

I have not been diagnosed, but I had the bull's eye rash. My dog has Lyme, and my niece who camps with me was diagnosed with lyme. She was told she didn't have Lyme and then she wound up in the hospital where they did a spinal and found out she did. I know I have Lyme. My symptoms are just like my niece's. I am going to a LL dr. next week.

Oh good! I'm so glad you are seeing a doctor next week! Do be sure that they have had some ILADS training, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doc (Infectious Disease Doctor), as ID docs believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Go to the ILADS site to read the new (2014) Treatment guidelines to get you started on your healing journey:

You can also get started with making sure your diet is really good - no sugar, or processed foods and you can start detoxing. There are some great ideas for detoxing in the link that I share above - and we can help you with most any questions you have.

Oh - I forgot to mention, for the nausea and vomiting, you can try fresh ginger tea. Grate some fresh ginger into a cup (about 2 teaspoons) add hot water and a bit of stevia or honey to help get it down. Do this 3 - 4 times a day. It's worked wonders for me.

Welcome to the community! I've nothing to add to the great counsel you've already received. You are in the right place for support and having an appointment with a Lyme literate doctor is an awesome start. Also, that you had a bullseye rash - that is also great news (oddly enough). All Dr.'s across the board and in-between in the "lyme wars" agree it is a definitive sign of having lyme. Once you start treatment things will improve, you may feel worse before you get better, you may have to experiment and mix your protocol up with time, but with patience and diligence you WILL improve. Take gentle care - so sorry for your present agony. I truly get it.

Thank you for your help everyone. Do doctors ever treat Lyme with Amoxicilin? I just got that today. The walk-in doctor thinks I have a respiratory infection. I'm hoping it helps with the other symptoms as well. Another question: Does anyone's blood pressure go really high when you are having a flare up of symptoms?

The most highly recommended antibiotic for Lyme is Doxycyline. The Amoxicilin may help make you feel better, but the llmd you're seeing will undoubtedly change it.

On the blood pressure situation, I've been dealing with that and been on meds for it off and on throughout my years of Lyme infection. There is such a thing as reactive hypertension and it's possible you have reactive, rather than chronic hypertension happening because of the stress your body and mind is under. Watch your salt intake and drink plenty of water (lemon slices in water) to help your body out.

Amoxicillin when used for these infections, but needs to be combined with another medicine in order to keep it in the bloodstream long enough to be effective for these infections. The most common medicine combined with it is called Probenecid.
