Is this reaction from die-off of bacteria?

Has anyone experienced swollen red eyelids,itchy feeling after iv Ceftriaxone med.?This happens off and on.I am supposedly not allergic to the drug.I'm wondering if it is from die off of bacteria confused

How do you know you're not allergic to it?

- itchiness and swelling can be an allergic reaction.

Can you talk to your LLMD about it?

I know that but i've been on it for months and just now this is happening off and on

hmmm. Usually allergic reactions will start within hours/days....and even a few weeks.

But, not sure if you can rule it out.

I have started the same medicine now and also feel that I herx a lot. I have headaches, body aches, joint aches, I feel weak and dizzy. I take it as herx and I am happy that bacteria is dying. You should try to increase your detox to see if that helps.

How much are you getting? I am getting 2 g a day, I guess it is a lot.

It still cannot be ruled out as an allergic reaction. Some doctors still argue with me because not only was an allergic reaction created in my mom from high dose abx when she had pneumonia as a young teen, but I'm severely allergic to the very same abx as is my daughter and my son.

Most often allergic reactions happen quickly, but sometimes it happens later, after the person's tolerance level for that drug has been reached.

Please consult your doctor, or another doctor to be sure it's ruled out. There are many defiantly could use instead to treat these infections, if need be.
