I have been reading through all of the information here and, while informative, it's a lot ... a lot of words I can't even pronounce. Like many of you, I have a very hard time concentrating when reading so, I am hoping I can get some information from you folks that I can ask my doctor at my 1 month follow up next week.
I have been on NABUMETONE 750 MG TABS and DOXYCYCLINE HYCLATE 100 MG CAPS - both twice a day, for 4 weeks.
I have had expanded muscle pain/brain fog/lymphatic swelling/memory loss/inability to form words/joint pain/weight gain/depression. None of these have subsided. Only gotten worse
Detox: I drink hot lemon juice and bathe in epsom salts.
I hate taking so much synthetic medication but, I can't afford the herbal ones. There is a person here who charges about $500 - $800 a month for the herbal remedy and ... I just can't buy into it.
SO ... can you summarize what I need to be asking my doctor for next steps? I"m not sold on the fact that she is 100% Lyme literate. I'm grateful that she diagnosed me with it (with a negative test) but I just have felt like, when I go in, she's like "Ok, well, well just see how it goes!"
Any help/advice would be MUCH appreciated!!!
Lymetrez - I had to look up the Nabumetone - it's an anti-inflammatory - so it's not treating the lyme...but maybe helping with your symptoms. Is it helping you with symptoms?
The doxycycline isn't a high enough dose. It needs to be 200 mg twice daily.
Can you remind me - is this a very recent infection? (weeks) - if not, you need something more than doxycycline.
Two or more abx need to be taken.
Could you have her look at these guidelines - it will show the dosages of antibiotics for lyme.
I think further down, it talks about
two antibiotics at a time, as well.
www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdfIf you can't get a higher dosage...and another antibiotic added, you might want to consider adding herbal treatments.
