Ahhh yes, the "dry crust". Very common w/ y/f overgrowth. Thanks for posting that. It is a little hard to tell but in the context of our conversation, my vote is a yeast/fungal overgrowth.
There are various anti fungal creams that will likely help the skin. The next step is to figure out the origin - is it growing from your gut? systemic? skin? Most MDs, particularly dermatologists, don't know a whole lot about
y/f overgrowth, particularly if it is internal.
If it's internal, it is likely
growing from the gut (very common w/ people on abx, which kills the good bacteria as well as the bad and the good bacteria is what keeps y/f in check). It can grow up your esophagus and onto your skin - a nystatin product is a 'local' anti fungal and doesn't cross the mucosal barrier so it doesn't have to be processed by your liver, etc. Very effective - highly recommend the PURE Nystatin powder - there is more info in this post (it's a lot of info but helps explain why they occur and how to effectively treat it):
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=1606610&g=3644275#m3644275It's also possible it's a
systemic overgrowth, which requires a systemic anti fungal, which does enter the blood stream and has to be metabolized by the liver so you'll need to protect it. There is more info in that post above.
If your overgrowth is internal, you would probably also have specific symptoms (that thread also has examples of symptoms).
But even more likely is that it is connected to the heavy metal treatment, which could be leaching from your pores and triggering an overgrowth on your
skin and/or a die-off that you can see drying up... So, I would start with a topical and see if you have success.
Hope this is helpful -
