I think sugar in fruit is metabolized differently. Fruit also has vitamins and fibers and enzymes that aid digestion of other foods....like meat. I agree astroman....I have seen those videos and read blogs on it. I categorize those in the extreme nutrition area.....I think they would b hard to follow for a life time. Take juicing for instance...and I mean veggies and fruit juices not the other kind ;).......people cannot stick to that for years it is just to hard.

Thank Monsanto, Bayer and who knows who else for killing the human species.

Farmers who use this think its great since the plants wont die from the herbicides (like Round-Up). So the whole field gets sprayed. The crops from the treated GMO seed no longer compete with weeds. We eat the crops with the round-up on it. Its in us now - the round -up herbicide, (G-whatever-phosphate?).

These farmers dont care about the future of the planet or the people, they want to retire in luxury. Some farmers are against it (most of Europe). Its a big split right now.

The scientific literature states that red meat is bad for you. Eating it once or twice here or there won't kill you, but a diet laden with red meat has been proven detrimental to our health over time. Is that bad for you? I say yes.

One could argue that eating 12 eggs a week is detrimental to your health. It would be for me. Since we all have a different microbiome, we all respond differently to what we eat.

I currently eat what I call a normal diet (100 times better than normal people) but I have eaten in many different manners to explore how it affected me. I grew up eating venison, fish, frog legs, turtles, dove, squirrels, rabbits, and even robins and black birds. I think it would be appropriate to say I grew up eating different things than most people. I've juiced exclusively for a month, I've eaten vegetarian for a month, I've eaten Paleo, I've done high protein, low protein, low carb, and low fat. I am blessed with the ability to not eat things I like to eat and I can eat crappy tasting food. I know what my body likes to eat and my goal has been to determine why I like to eat that way. It's an ongoing project.

How can I single out certain occupations to not 'bash'? If we start saying that no one can post their opinion on any occupation, then we couldn't hardly have an open and thought provoking forum I would think.

I'm very sorry that you were offended, so it's your opinion that there are no farmers that ever think that way? I doubt very seriously that Astroman meant every single farmer out there has that opinion.

Since the word opinion literally means "a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.", I'm not sure what else to call it.

No, I do NOT delete posts that are "void of any facts" - there are mainly opinions on this site. We do share scientific facts/papers and other things, but it's mainly opinion. And no, there is no rule that says that I can delete threads at my will or whim.

This is not my site, but Admin's site - I only follow his rules and guidelines, unless he states it's left up to my choice, which isn't really all that often. I'm basically just another member who makes sure that there are no arguments and members follow the rules. It's not left up to my interpretation of those rules, either. If I have any questions, I'm supposed to be asking questions of Admin or other Mods to see how Admin would want a situation handled.

And to be clear, no, you can not go slandering whoever you wish on here. But this comment was a personal opinion. No one is required to read this thread, or agree with this thread. Even as a Mod who likes to read most of the threads to make sure things are staying calm, I don't participate in any threads that I don't share the same opinions on many times. We only ask that you do the same.

As a "regular" member, you even have more freedom than I do, as you can choose to "ignore" a member's posts, whereas I cannot do that if I wish to be a good, productive Mod. Just find a post that a member that you find offensive, and click on the thumbs down icon and you will no longer see posts from that person. Admin knew that we don't all share the same opinions and that this would be a good addition to a forum like this.

But, as I said, this thread is now being locked, because, as a Mod, on of my main responsibilities is to maintain a "calm" atmosphere here. I think this thread has gone far enough now.
