I definitely agree that if it continues to get worse, you need to talk to your doctor. I'm not so sure you shouldn't anyway with a lump on the bone. Bartonella can cause this, but it's best to make sure it's not something else.
I have a dear friend that calls the sciatic nerve the devil nerve, just for that reason. Mine flares regularly. =(
If it's "just" these infections, I would encourage you to start on anti-inflammatories, and to start doing VERY gentle stretching. That's been the only thing that helps me when it's due to the muscles, tendons, fascia in that area. I can now feel when it first starts and with stretching, heat (to help relax all that in there) and some more gentle stretching, I can now drastically shorten that misery.
I use extra pillows in bed (even a thin one under my low back/hips) to help, and sometimes have to stretch 5 - 6 times a day.
