Lyme and its coinfections aren't like the flu or a bladder infection. Treatment is more like TB treatment: protracted.
Those who are feeling worse off after starting treatment are usually overburdened with dead bug toxins.
We all need to find a balance between killing the bugs and clearing the toxins. If the toxins aren't cleared, they can get reabsorbed into our tissues and wreak further havoc.
An effective detoxing protocol can help us manage treatments better. Here's some info:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlJust as has been said by the other posters on here, everyone has a different timeline for healing. It all depends on the condition of the body when treatment started, the infections one has, the body's ability to detox and more.
I got to 90% after 5 months on abx. It's took me 18 months to get to 99% (yikes). Maybe I'm at 99.2% now lol
My symptoms have always been mild and that's the reason my LLMD didn't prescribe aggressive treatment. I'm not so sure he did me any favors.
I was pretty much on my own when my LLMD took me off abx - he told me to start an herbal protocol but knows nothing about
herbs. I wasn't inclined to see another LLMD at that point - too much money and I thought I was almost "done".
I have had non-stop "life stuff" happening since starting treatment....along with a misbehaving thyroid. It's been quite the process to heal.
I've been fully functional for a long while now but have some lingering issues such as mild twitches and various manifestations of facial numbness.
Lyme loves the nervous system and infects it within 12 hrs. of the tick bite. I'm not surprised about
my situation and just keep treating ;) It could be worse.
