Hello i was finally diagnosed with lyme after 8 years of health problems ive been reading about how some lymers have been treated in México i would like to look for some one in México so i can just pay out of poket since i have no insurance please send info thanks

You can buy meds in mex for cheap and the drs prescription only costs $8. I would buy antibiotics and start treatment on your own until you meet with a specialist.

An example

My bicillin in the states -2400
Mex- $150

tini here at walmart-$1300
Mex- $220

Unbelievable right?

These are out of pocket prices without insurance. I'm fortunate to have access to Mexico pharmacies living in SoCal

Have you taken a look through the thread at the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" - it's packed full of useful information.


You will also want to start on a good detox regimen...it will help you with symptoms caused by the die-off of bacteria.

Thanks yes im looking through to see what others have gone through i am on ceftin and took a week of flagyl but i would like to look for a doctor that has had succes in treating lyme at first i started with testical and próstata pain doctor thaught it was an std gave me azithromicen 1g the next day i was symptom free but after 8 days my symptoms came back then later i was givin bactrim still thinking it was prostatitis i was symptom free after the 14 day course and a month ago i was finally diagnosed with lyme i have been on ceftin for a month and no progress thanks

Hi Mexlyme,

Could chlamydia or mycoplasma be involved as well as co infections?

I think I read somewhere that they might be involved when you have those kind of symptoms. If so, doxycycline is an abx that might help.

When i started with my ordeal i did have testical and próstate pain contant urge to urinate did have an std check wich came back negative but was givin azithromicen 1g wich it did make me well and took everything away but it came back 8 days later and i have had semen coultures urine coultures that came back negative one doctor gave me cipro for prostitis wich i did feel my pain to be less and the rest of my symptoms where decressing but then it came back so i do relate my testical and próstate pain with lyme

Mexlyme, you might want to activate your email on your profile here, and start a thread "Looking for an LLMD near___________, and put your location in the blank. Someone will email you some Lyme Literate Medical Doctors, as we do not want to post their names publicly on the forum, to protect them.

I don't know if you're actually residing in Mexico, but here in the States most LLMD's do not take insurance, since insurance will not cover the extended treatments these infections often need.

Hi lymiemomster

I have had several cultures and they where negative what i did see is that in some abx treatments iv had is that it would go away and i would much better but would came back after so kind of relate all my symptoms to lyme thanks
