So...I went to a third LLMD who did AK testing and now says I have more coinfections..Not sure I believe in this testing.. opinions?

Are the suspected co-infections not in line with the symptoms you're experiencing?


A lot of people do trust the AK testing.

I'm not one that does...(just my opinion)

Hopefully as you treat one infection, you will have a clearer picture of what else needs treatment...by symptoms, responses to other treatments, etc.

I think it has limited success. If, say for example, when a person has a very high bacterial load of Lyme, the other infections may or may not be evident, but I'm not completely sure of why.

I have seen/heard of the results changing as time goes on and the person treats more. Someone with say, Lyme and Bart may go in after a few months and have this testing, and 'suddenly' Babesia or RMSF shows up - but this is fairly common with testing the blood as well.

A lot of it depends on the practitioner, so there are a lot of variables.

I do AK, but generally speaking related to just structural adjustments. It has made a hugely wonderful difference for me. He did test me for some supplement needs, and those were spot on... when I started Buhner ptotocol, those were the needed supplements.

Having said that, I do not rely on it solely for answers. I use it as a tool from the toolbox. I have been blessed to find one of the best docs. He was on his way to Norway this weekend to teach...

I believe in it. My LLMD uses it as well. He has actual slides of the cos, vial of lyme, etc... I was wondering if I have Bart (tested negative for it) and the muscle testing says yes. Last time I didn't have any cos (yet).

I don't have experience with AK in relation to Lyme, but I've gone to several supposedly trained AK practitioners (chiropractic and otherwise). After years of following this kind of diagnosis (interesting they never diagnosed me correctly, which is Lyme) and spending plenty of money on supplements, I don't believe in it at all. They would tell me I was deficient in things, and my bloodwork would tell a totally different story. They would tell me that various nutrition allergies were the real problem, and I needed supplement x,y,z etc. Several double blind scientific studies have been done, and shown that AK has no valid basis. I will never, ever, spend time or money going down that road again.

In treating for Lyme and Bartonella. New LLMD says she found Babesia and Erlichiosis. I have no Babesia symptoms...she said I don't have to. Probably true but is probably as reliable as the blood tests.

Well I've had the testing from several different doctors with variable results. Traveler makes a good point with regard to "timing" of the testing. If you have a good doctor, then possibly good results. If it's someone tinkering around, possibly not.

I have done AK. It was how I first got diagnosed with Lyme. I did other types of testing to confirm it and was very glad of the initial diagnosis. But she my AK practitioner also said I had Babesia and Bartonella. Probably because thats is the expectation that they all go together. The subsequent testing didnt show up either and I went for several different kinds of tests not knowing who to trust. AK is good if the practitioner is. I dont trust it completely.

I agree with so much that is said here. I believe in it but I trust myself more. If I had no symptoms of Babesia and my Babs test was negative I would not start treating Babs solely on the rec. of AK testing. So far it has worked for me but I also resonated and had symptoms for what has been said. Perhaps treat with herbs that target a bit of everything? I can't assist with what those are but the experts here can help.

Are you going to this new LLMD because you aren't making significant progress? If so, then that could possibly be the reason why you aren't. So this could be the next piece of the puzzle.
