Babesia treatment HELP for my son

My son has lyme, babesia, EBV. I have all that and Bart.

He started Mepron last night and was weepy today. Took his dose today and is really bad. Crying, fell to the ground, said he wishes he was dead (he does NOT speak this way) and wants to go into a coma until this is all over. He keeps crying.

I just did a Mepron search and found this below post on something called A-BABS?

QUESTIONS:
1. What IS A-BABS? Who makes it how do I order it?
2. What should I do for my son? Ride it out and stay with him OR take him off Mepron?
LLMD gave it to me too but NO WAY am I taking it. I'm way too sensitive. I need to treat Babs/Bart.

Primary Provoking Action of A-BAB:

This formula activates the immune response for the management of acute and chronic Babesiosis.
It can be effective with of all forms of Babesia (14 known species) including B. microti and WA-1.
It can be useful against malarial and parasitic organisms.

Secondary Provoking Actions of A-BAB:

Babesia like Borrelia and the other co-infections seldom come alone. Patients with Babesiosis often have opportunistic infections. A-BAB activates the immune system in addressing these opportunistic bacterial strains including Borrelia, Bartonella and Ehrlichia species. This formula also helps the immune system control viral organisms, forms of Candida, some protozoan parasites and malaria. REGULATORY MECHANISMS OF A-BAB:

Noni: High in antioxidants and polysaccharide component, Noni has shown to release immune enhancing compounds that activate white blood cells. It has antimalarial, anti-bacterial effects and has been reported as limiting tumor growth. Noni has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine activities helping with sleep, temperature and mood disorders.

Sam Bong: High in essential oils (especially camphor) this herb has been used for kidney and heart disease. It his beneficial in removing worms, breaking up kidney stones, boils, pain and high cholesterol.

Neem: This herb's anti-viral, anti bacterial and anti-fungal effects are well documented. There is evidence for its use in pneumonia, ulcers, gout, diabetes, hypertension, skin infection and wound healing. The essential fatty acid content in Neem is high.

Curcuma Xanthorrhiza: This is an immune stimulator that has strong anti-oxidant effects. It is liver protective encourages the production of bile and prevents the formation of gallstones. It has high amounts of the essential oil cinnamalhehyde that has anti-inflammatory properties.

Yarrow: Yarrow has action against fever. It is affective against gram positive and negative bacteria. It relieves inflammation, stops cramps, stimulates the release of stomach acid and improves digestion of proteins and fats.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE:

Start with 1 to 5 drops two times daily in a small glass of water.

Gradually increase or decrease the drops as tolerated by the patient.
The dosing will be individualized in relation to the patient’s response.

Target dose: 15 drops twice daily.

Challenge dose: 20 or more drops in relation to the patient’s response.

He is supposed to take the Mepron for three days then start Zithro. It will ultimately be Mepron/Zithro/Mino for 5 days a week. Mino isn't added for another two weeks. He has the blues and today said his head and behind his eyes hurt. Once the Mepron was out of his system (before his second dose) he seemed happy again.

I'll see how tomorrow goes and if it's bad again (today's dose was double). Last night was 1/2 teaspoon, today was 1 teaspoon then in 5 days it goes up to 1 teaspoon 2x a day...

I'll try to look for A-Babs Byron White. I ordered Beyond Balance Babs 1 so that may be similar.

I start seeing a new llmd next month and she told me for psych symptoms before she starts someone on antibiotics she does neuroptransmitter testing to fix that also mthfr and adrenals cause they can worsen psych symptoms and they often will worsen during herxes

Mepron can cause serious depression and suicidal thoughts. If it were me I would not give him another dose and call your dr about this. I can't find the thread on here where I read about the warning but try searching the toolbar for mepron suicide.

I can tell you I have been taking mepron for 3 months. I don't know if it is the mepron doing this to me but I have never ever felt so hopeless in my life. I admit that I fight those scary thoughts everyday now.

I'm trying to hang on but not sure how much longer I can do this with the constant crying and hopelessness.

If it was my child I would stop immediately.

My son had a horrible panic attack when he tried rifampin and we had to stop it :(

My son is using beyond balance bab 2 and has had no adverse effects. Its hard to say if he is herxing on it because he started it shortly after he was taking doxy/azithro and now just azithro. I can't remember if you were going to try beyond balance.

I think we might have to move slowly with our boys to eradicate their illnesses. They are already vulnerable being isolated with their disease. I will ask my son to email your son tomorrow if you think its ok?:)

I am worried we aren't killing the bugs but we have to maintain some kind of quality of life balance too right?

I have ordered some gou teng and japanese knotweed from a local wonderful chinese herbalist to reduce the inflammation and for neuro symptoms and also houttunyia to try later for the bart. We can try cryptolepsis for the babesia later when they are feeling stronger.

To echo Girlie, because it is very important. Your son needs to detox..

The reason why your son feels really bad is not necessarily the bacteria(s) themselves. It's inflammation that the body is going through because an overload of toxins. When you detox well and daily, it assist the body in filtering out die off toxins. Detoxing can minimize the inflammation.

The Mepron is working, your sons immune system is working. That's exactly why he feels bad. Detoxing brings relief to herxing.

Thank you guys so much. I am working on detox but it's hard on a young teen. He stopped all gluten (doing one elimination at a time), little sugar, and he has been having detox tea, ASG, dry brushing to begin.

I am stopping Mepron and will just start him on the Zithro to bring down bacteria load. I will ask LLMD to switch him to Malarone.

I have ordered Beyond Balance Babs 1 and Bart 1 (I have both). Once his bacteria load is down I will work on getting herbs in him.

I can't tell you how much it means that you guys responded with so much care. I was in a full panic last night. He is already so tender and feeling so badly about himself. JDF, he isn't bipolar but I have to say for the past ten months lyme (that's how long I think the changes began)I have thought he may be. I now see it's lyme brain.

Thank you SO MUCH. I swear I learn something every single day. I didn't realize Babs is bigger debris. Fascinating. I am ordering red root NOW. Your advice, care and words made me feel so much better. My son is still sleeping. I'm switching to Zithro and will work on more detoxes. Cool water is a good idea. I forgot that one. Mostly because it's cold and I can't think about a cold rinse.

I may switch to Malarone just to see if that is better and get these bugs under control.

I need to do something for my own Babs/Bart before they get out of control. I think I will do Beyond Balance when it arrives and Red Root.

How does one know if there are bad interactions with herbs? Can that ever happen? Like you can't take red root with Stephania (making up an example).

I am ONLY one stephania/ash/elu right now. Doing lots of detox/supplements/immune builders.

It's slow getting stuff in my son. He almost vomited yesterday as I gave him my supplements/immune builders but his body is not used to it. I take: Spriulina, Immune Shield, Colloidal silver, D3-k, methyl B12, methyl folate, I-lysine, Omega Ultra, probiotic, Wobynzyme PS, digestive enzymes, AHCC (mushroom blend), multi, C/Mag. I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

In his books, Buhner states that all of the herbs he recommends can be taken along with all of the herbs in all other herbal protocols.

The only exceptions would be exceptions the other protocols might have (such as Cowden's advice to dose Samento and Banderol at different times of the day).

Did you give your son ALL of that stuff for the first time yesterday? If yes, that's waayyy too much stuff for the body to handle.

Low and slow is always the way to go.

Huddie maybe your son should join a lyme teen facebook group? Or something similar. I felt alone until i made a treatment instagram, ohmygoodness there are like a thousand teenage girls on instagram with severe late stage lyme. I've made so many friends! I mean i love it here too obvs but its nice jumping back and forth. It might be nice for your son cause when you are a teen with lyme it can feel isolating.

Huddie, hmm I have never seen people do that on ig or the teen facebook group. I have seen people on the adults group post like for example Im in so much pain i feel suicidal today help me hang on guys and then other people will comment and say encouraging things or how they also felt the same way during treatment. But on the teen fb group i haven't seen that although people do talk about like depression or anxiety occasionally. Tbh everyone has very much of a fighters spirit. I have never seen anyone like try to help someone kill themselves everyone very much wants to get better and helps others get better and is pretty adamant about people hanging on.

Well on instagram after you make an account you can just on the search engine search lyme and then follow random people who have lyme. They usually follow back and people will post pics and talk about their feelings or treatment and you can comment or message them and they you. Everyone is very warm and kind and very honest. So after a while you build friendships. Like now every day i text three other people who have lyme that are teenagers that i met through fb and ig actually.

Facebook is different as you request to join the teen group and then are accepted and then you get to see all the postings and can comment on any and message anyone.

But its def has its limits. I like healing well just as much and this is my favorite place to seek medical advice. But fb and ig are nice cause you will see lots of kids in jhs or high school sharing their experiences.

Well, if having fellow Lyme patients as friends is corny or pathetic - then count me in!! Lyme patients can be some of the most compassionate people I know!

I made it through my teen years without the support that is now available online, but it was a real struggle. I'm pretty sure that I made it through just to prove to people that I could survive it! Ha ha ha! Most of them didn't believe that I was ill anyway though. Teenage years are just hard! You don't know where you fit any longer.

While I would encourage you to continue to watch over your son's posts (at least some), watch over his demeanor as well. If he takes a sudden turn for the worst, be sure you talk - lots- during this time of his life.
