3 weeks into antibiotics and no herx??

Im 3 weeks into Azithromycin and Minocycline and not having a herx reaction.

Im actually feeling much better, more energy, less fatigue. I can last until 6pm now before I get tired. I did have 2 weeks of doxy 3 months gao was bad herx so maybe I killed good bit of lyme?

Should I be herxing?

Who herxes how badly and when is mostly determined by the individual's body's ability to detox well. Gene mutations, multiple infections, mold exposure and other things can have a massive impact on the body's ability to detox effectively - but not everyone experiences a herx either.

Some people can get several months (3 - 5) before herxing starts, but this doesn't mean much, other than they now need to step up their detoxing.

Celebrate feeling better and continue to detox at the level you are, and watch for any signs that herxing may be headed your way.

I have been on antibiotics for about 5 weeks and don't think I have had a herx. I have actually had some good days and my bad days have not been worse then before starting antibiotics.

The anxiety is slowly dialing down, but it still has a ways to go. Insomnia and night sweats are still there, but maybe a tad better. I still get serious tooth pain and my shoulders are very tense.

I do a lot of detoxing, so I hope that is helping.

Davidgraham5, I did not herx the entire time I was in treatment. here is the BUT....

I have detoxed like my life depended on it and I didn't just do 3 or 4 detox things. I did about 15 daily!

DAILY.

Herxing is stressful for the body and just slows down your healing. It should never be a goal.

The goal is to not herx.

Herxing should not be a sign that something is working.

Herxing is a sign that you have too many toxins for your body to remove.

Count your blessings so you don't herx. Up your detox every couple of days with another method and have smooth sailing to healing.

How long had you been infected ?...likely they are just encysted and waiting for the coast to clear ..try pulsing tinadazole or bee venom if you wanna kill some lyme

Sissy63, I see that you have serious tooth pain? I've never heard anyone else talk about it but I've had it for 6 months now - off and on. One 4 day period when I was in training for work and under terrible stress, I had terrible pain on my left side - both top and bottom.

I went to a Lyme literate dentist who said my mercury filling has to come out and I have cavitations - miniscule holes in teeth that have crowns. Bacteria can collect here. Not sure what he is recommending for this but I'm afraid the lyme is in my jaw bone.

What do you think about yours?

OK guys thanks for the reply. I'm on herbs also plus vitamins so I am supporting body best as I can.

Is it normal to feel the benefita if antibiotics straight away? I'm feeling pretty good on them

Some just start feeling better quickly, others deal with herxing and treatment issues. Lyme patients can "run the gammet" between those things, so the more you read patient experiences, the more you will see this. We all have our own path to follow.

Keep detoxing, eating well,keeping your stress low, and hopefully your experience will be a smooth one!

I've experienced some smilar effects as you did.

My ABX regiment is different however from yours (combination of doxy, rifampin and tidamax + supplements).
Strangely my fatigue levels have gone down dramatically - like you, before ABX I was crashing around 5pm and was ending up in bed. Now it's much better - my other symptoms are still there although at much subdued instensity.

I'm reading that some ABX have anti-inflammatory effects (like doxy) and some of the temporary improvement might be due to that. Also (depending if you believe in other forms of Bb - like cysts or biofilms...) - the improvement might be due to the fact that the bacteria is receding into forms or areas of your body in defence of ABX treatment. I cannot say I've experienced any herxing while on ABX.

In general - I'm suspicious of ABX treatment as I can feel ABX are not getting rid of my symptoms completely - just subduing them.

Aside from fatigue levels going down - what is happening with your other symptoms?

Well, I just have to say that Lyme (borrelia) changing into different forms (3 distinct forms - spirochete, round body form {cysts}, and cell wall deficient) isn't a matter of opinion. Neither are biofilms - this has all been proven scientifically.

Tested igm positive for four strains with armin labs and I also tested positive for the same strains igm again with bca lab. Three months between tests and no treatment between tests. I have chlamydia pneumonia, mycoplasma, yersinia, coxsackie. Suspected babesia also but that test actually negative

Did you mean four bands? I don't believe they have yet to be able to identify four different strains of Borrelia.

Okay, thank you for clarifying that. I was hoping that you actually meant strains though! LOL! It would be nice if they would develop tests for more than the 2 or 3 strains that we currently can test for.

I have also been treating for 3 weeks with Azithromycin, Minocycline and mycobutin and have not herxed on those abx.
Tested positive to Bartonella but only band 41 in Igenex WB.

I have also experienced an increase in my energy level and decrease in my anxiety.

I did however recently introduce houttuynia and herxed.

We are all different on what treatment we respond to, often times, by trial and error.

Any idea how long you will be on those for? I'm on mine for 8 weeks then maybe continue or add in third antibiotic.

My energy has increased also.

Not sure. I am on mine as long as my symptoms persist.

Every 2-3 weeks I do get blood work done for my LLMD to check my levels.

Three months in between tests and you didn't test positive for IgG? Maybe why there is no herx.

Yes correct still no igg. I've actually three postive lyme test results from three different labs all same strains and all igm. My lyme doc said isolated igm can be seen in chronic lyme patients. My cd count is low

Can you list the 15 detoxers per day? I thought I did a lot but I can't even think of 15. I do 1.Yogi detox tea 2. Dry brushing 3. epsom salt foot soak 4. Lemon water 5. ALA 6. High dose vit C/mag 7. Probiotic 8. Essential oil/coconut oil mix on soles of feet 9. Spirulina 10. Rishi green tea 11. Green juice.

I need more ideas. Thanks.

From what you have posted I would suggest the reason you are not herxing is because you do not have lyme and are treating whatever illness you do have in an incorrect manor.

please explain why you think davidgraham does not have lyme...based on tests?


I tested positive for lyme -IgM after 15 months of symptoms...
