Depression?

Hi guys so my twin wanted me to ask you guys what you take for some depression relief during treatment. Its her most severe and hated symptom. Please dont recommend antidepressants antipsychotics, etc. She's literally failed all of them. Thanks guys!
Oh also she has Lyme bartonella and Mycoplasma the glorious psych symptoms trio.

5-HTP helped me tremendously. With sleep and anxiety too. My LLMD recommended it. But it's different for everyone. Is your LLMD open and comfortable with non-pharmaceuticals? Can you ask them?

High quality fish oil, cordyceps (a lot of this is connected to inflammation). These are supportive things.

This is something that is rocking me hard right now. I feel so overwhelmed and feeling hopelessness with all this that I have been fighting suicide for several days now. The only thing keeping me going is my wife and 3 small kids....

Here's to hoping something changes soon to offer some encouragement.

There have been several posts the last few weeks on this topic and anxiety.

Try the herbs and amino acids for this first, any vitamin store has them. You need to try higher dosages sometimes since they arent Rx.

Its all trial and error- just like the Rx route for the same thing.

As far as frustration with all this, well not much helps that.

We must all remember the super moon is in two days. Its effects can be felt 4-5 days before and after - that = more anxiety/depression.

The anxiety and depression is the worst part of lyme. For me abx and certain herbs do it for me. To help I do: Kavinace, Calm PRT, Gaba, 5-HTP all by Neuroscience. I drink Yogi bedtime tea (two bags). I use essential oils and do meditation and prayer. Reading also helps (not this board and nothing about lyme :)

I agree with Peteza about mag. I put a teaspoon of Calm-Mag in my bedtime tea - it's wonderful.

Someone posted a book on her and I got it. A woman who had lyme wrote it. It's a daily prayer book and it's lovely.

Mokes, I'm sorry I'm just now seeing your post. You HAVE to stay strong for your wife and 3 little kids. Can you imagine them growing up without you?? Or leaving your wife to raise them on her own. It sounds like you have so much to live for....

I can empathize 100% with where you are. I have only told one person this (my sister, and only after the fact) but I want to share it with you because I think it may help: 15 months ago I was so sick and my "LLMD" was killing me that I had to move to Virginia to begin treatment with my sister's LLMD (she is now in complete remission and feels great). I only put the effort into making the move for my sister's sake as I really felt there was no hope. This is hard to say but I put a red mark on my calendar for exactly 52 weeks from my first appointment and told myself that I would give it one year. If I wasn't significantly better and the depression/black/suicidal thoughts hadn't eased up considerably by that date, I wasn't going to struggle and fight any more. For many months I would cross off each week on the calendar but somewhere around the 7th month I stopped doing that because it no longer felt relevant. I now still have depression but not nearly as severe and most importantly, I can't imagine ending it now. Most of my symptoms (except insomnia) are much much better as well.

So please know that it does get better and THERE IS HOPE. Do you have a LLMD that you trust? I'm no expert but if you care to share your protocol there are many knowledgeable members who would likely weigh in.

Please stay strong for your family and know that many of us have been where you are but are not out of that abyss.....to one degree or another.

Keep coming back to this forum to vent, ask questions, learn from others, but mainly just to know that you aren't alone in this.
