This is very weird... I have been producing Alot of saliva.. Has anyone experienced this before and know what this is from ?

Yes, I have lived with this for a really long time! I saturate my pillow every night, drool on projects or myself during the day. Cannot control the flood of saliva, it is sooooo annoying, and you're the first person I've met who has this symptom too! I read in Peter Alex's "The Homeopathic Treatment of Lyme Disease" that the excessive saliva is a Lyme symptom. My Dad actually had the excessive salivation to some degree also, but not to the extent that I do, and his may have been due to the fact that he wore full upper & lower dentures...I don't know if he had Lyme or not...

Believe it or not yes. At the time of my onset of lyme symptoms, I was going through ALOT of dental work. So when I presented to my oral surgeon specifically for excess saliva, he thought I was nuts. However, I knew it was true and it eventually went away. I will say it again, anything is possible with lyme. I think the body gets so thrown out of whack that possibly its hormonal or the flight or fight mode.

LOL! I have lived with that as well, but never thought it was a part of Lyme!!! I have blamed all kinds of things - as well as my dentures too!- but it just never crossed my mind that it could be a part of Lyme!! How funny in that weird sort of way!!

Well It just started for me lastnight. Not really blaming lyme but who knows. I mean I did come down with a cold. Idk if u google it could be stomach problems mercury etc etc.

You know, I had totally forgotten about this symptom!!! I used to spit like a baseball player (very attractive in a petite middle aged woman)!

HI All- I have been battling Lyme/Babesia for a long time, and I have been on both antibiotics and Herbal medication for about 10-11 months now. about a week ago, I started having excess mouth saliva/tongue drooling and it is, as you know, quite annoying. In addition to my Lyme/Babesia meds-I just recently changed my anti anxiety medications. My doc switched me from Ativan to Librium, because she felt that the tapering off process would be easier with the Librium when that time comes. Is it really possible that excess saliva/drooling could be a Lyme symptom(and why now after all this time), or is it more likely an effect from the Librium-which by the way is the only new med I had started right before this saliva/drooling began. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, rjb

Ive had this issue since i was kid. Not sure if lyme related or not. But it has increased over the last several months along with post nasal drip with tons of mucus. When i eat i get tons of mucus which would imply interactions with bacteria. Could be candida or lyme not sure.

Are you twitching in addition to hypersalivation?

If you are, look for manganese toxicity(especially people in big cities or near freeways). Either way, look for metal toxicity. Lead toxicity can cause hypersalivation and the toxicity could even be caused a "non-harmful" metal like barium.

I've noticed this as of this week. I did make some changes to my protocol so that could be the reason.

Hi all,

I hope everyone is surviving the super moon-I, unfortunately have been HERXING REALLY badly for the last couple of days, and especially today. As my flare ups get worse, my saliva on my tongue has increased, which is quite annoying. Any thoughts to this correlation.

I just started having this same symptom on and off about few weeks ago. Been stuck with lymes which was improperly treated a year ago. Definitely had Lymes for longer than 4 weeks when Docs did oral doxycycline for 2 weeks.(which had no effect.) Now doctors still won't even take me seriously and I feel like I'm slowly dying. Lymes is such a ***** to get treated properly. Especially when you're low income and can't even afford to see a "Lyme literate" Dr. Sometimes I just think of ending it all.
