Looking for an LLMD in Knoxville, TN

Hello,

I was told last week by my Rheumatologist's nurse that my Lyme test was positive. I went to the lab for more blood work, and now I'm waiting on results in order to begin treatment.

Before I got the test results back my rheumy had put me on Prednisone. I have tried to contact him for almost a week now to ask if I should stop the Prednisone.

I have yet to get a response so I stopped the Prednisone myself, after experiencing increasingly worse symptoms, as well as crushing chest pains (these have lasted for 7 days now, very concerning).

I am extremely frustrated with my doctor at this point, and I am desperate to find a knowledgable doctor to help me.

I've been incredibly sick for 17 months now, and have been given the runaround by countless doctors during this time.

Thank goodness for this forum. I would be lost without the advice of you fine people :)

If anyone knows of an LLMD in east TN please let me know.

If you don't find anyone closer to you, would you will email me (click on the little blue envelope under my screen name), as I have the contact info of a Lyme Literate Practitioner in Rosewell, Ga. It's about 3 1/2 hours from Knoxville.

Sounds like you definitely need to find a doc that knows enough to at least not keep you on steroids!

Do most LLMDs take insurance or should I expect to pay out of pocket?

Most LLMD's don't take insurance. One reason is that way the insurance co's won't report them for prescribing what they need to in order to combat these infections. Although quite a few of them will provide you with the necessary paperwork to file with your insurance co.

This is an alternative medicine doc though, I hope that doesn't bother you. I have a link to his website when you are interested.

I'm ready. Just for a call from my rhuemy saying to continue the steroids. I'm going to pull my hair out.
