Hi everyone....I haven't been here in awhile but I have visited this board on and off since 2005.
That was my first time getting Lyme and I was 25 and I was very sick and had no idea what I had. After a whole year of being undiagnosed and having every symptom in the book....aches, pains, neuro, everything! I was finally tested and diagnosed by Dr. P. He helped me be well again and after a few months I was just about
back to normal! This board helped me immensely and even helped me find Dr. P.
Then in 2009 I had a second baby and was bitten again. I had the red marks on my back and hips and I started to feel ill. I lived in the woods and it was hard to even go out to your car without picking up a tiny deer tick. They were everywhere. This time I found a Lyme literate doctor closer to home...he's not as well known but he was pretty good. I was better within a couple of months because I found it quickly.
Oh yes...again, in 2010, I was bitten yet again. The whole thing returned, feeling generally unwell, swollen glands, headaches, pains everywhere. I was pregnant with number three. I stayed on medication the whole time...none of my children have acquired the illness from me...By the end of the pregnancy I figured I was better and I stopped my medication. A month after baby was born I had a terrible relapse.
Baby was several months old and after having a party in our yard, days later I had a warm red patch again on my hip and became incredibly ill. So I got Lyme on top of having Lyme already. I stayed on medication and I felt fine when on meds but the second I tried to stop, I relapsed. I only responded to Omnicef/Cefdinir and when I tried to stop that med, I became incredibly ill. My doctor also gave it to me with Doxy (not while pregnant though). That is a total of four times I have been infected with Lyme. My dog has had it just as many times as me.
I moved out of state since then. My husband and I had no health insurance, though the children do. We have gone over three years without it. I couldn't see my doctor in my home state anymore...I had no insurance...I had no idea what to do. I researched online and ended up buying Omnicef from India and I've been taking farm animal Tetracyline. Please, please, I know it's awful, I don't want to be judged.
I really feel like I've had no other choice. I have to take 6 heaping spoonfuls of the Tetracycline powder a day to keep the Lyme at bay. If I slip up, I become very sick. I have 4 children to take care of, they are all little. I have a business to run which involves being active...I'm a dance teacher. If I hadn't done what I did, I would not have been able to take care of them for the past few years, as most of the time on meds, I am 98% better and function normally. I can't go on like this. I need help. Plus after the new year, the tetracycline powder will be unavailable to buy without a prescript
ion from a vet. Some people don't believe in antibiotics that long but it is the difference of me taking care of kids or not, or getting out of bed or not, or maybe would I just not even be alive anymore if I didn't have them..
I try garlic, smoothies, Cat's Claw, silver, grapefruit seed extract...if there's an herb that works really well, please point me in the direction, I want to try anything.
We are getting insurance again within the next month. I know that won't work at most Lyme doctors but it will help with the meds a little. I need a new LLMD. I am in New Hampshire now. Can anyone help with pointing me in the direction of one?
I am so scared I will have this forever. I am going on 6 years since the last bite. This really feels like forever...
