Thank you, PeteZa. I'm not having fun right now. LOL! But as we tell others, I'm hanging in there! My fingernails are just getting sore! Ha ha ha!

Oh Trav!

You even make whining funny. You have about a million credits with us.

If you care too, share details, vent, let it all out. We're here.

You are probably exhausted from all the nursing, hospital stay, etc... I hope you get detox and rest time today.

You got it! I knew I really didn't need to go into details - I've been kind of quietly whining lately anyway! Ha ha ha!!

I'm just over stressed with everything from the family get together for Thanksgiving, the hospital and now - although hubby is home and doing well - we still get up several times a night and I'm having to help him with things and do errands that he usually does.

So, WAAAAAAA!!! Cry, cry, cry - whine, whine, whine. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Oh Uhg!!! There go my innerds again!!!! Noooooooo!!!!!

I have to go out to do errands that he usually does today, and then out again to get groceries. I just can't bring myself to leave him alone for too long, we have dogs that need to go in and out and he will be up to care for them - I know he will be. He's worried about the stress and strain on me too. I guess it's getting visible, because I know I'm keeping my temper in check (a hard one for me!!).

Oh well. Onward!!!! I have my good friends here that understand and always have kind words for me, so I know I can do this! Right? LOL!

Trav,

You have every right to vent. I don't know how you do it. Taking care of a mending husband, taking care of you and then answering all of us. Take the week off and take care of you.

If your house guest is still there I bet he would love to help you out and go get groceries. Perhaps a bit of delegation is in order.

The dogs will be fine for a little while. Tell your husband if he gets up to let them out you will be mad. That should do the trick.

I still can't imagine you ever getting mad. Hang in there and don't answer this nono one less thing to do.

Oh Trav, whine away! It's really really hard when our support system goes down. My hubby gets bouts of vertigo and is laid flat when it strikes. I feel so bad because inwardly I'm just grumbling whereas he takes care of me so much! I can't stand myself sometimes! (Most of the time...lol)

Can you find a grocery store that delivers or lets you order online in advance? That's the coolest thing in my world lol

Oh Huddie! LOL! I'm the hot head in the family!! Red hair (well it used to be!) and all!! Ha ha ha!! Seriously! I'm all of 5'1" and hubby is 6'2" and he has to help me control my temper!! You should have seen the hot mess I was when one of the nurses aides spilled hubby's blood all over his bed, the wall, then she dumped it in the toilet and it was all over the seat!! She got defiant and so did I - only I have had A LOT more practice than that young thing had at being defiant!! Ha ha ha!! Good thing hubby was there!!!

And thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!! I KNEW my REAL support system would be here to help me through this - and that's all of you!! Hubby tries, but he has no idea what it's like to be sick for months and years. His issues are all about pain levels, not the total disruption of body functions AND pain.

Drinking a cup of detox tea right now!! Thank you Pmm for reminding me to continue to keep up the detoxing!! I have never figured out why I can think up all kinds of things for others to do to help themselves feel less pain/discomfort, but when it's for me, my brain just doesn't seem to compute well!

But - "with grace and dignity"?? turn Ha ha ha!! I'm not sure whining is compatible with grace and dignity!!! smilewinkgrin But I have you all, so I know that I will get through this and get back on the mend soon enough!

I wish I were physically close enough to come help you. And vice versa. Having someone with you might not always make it easier, but it's usually more fun.

Anyhow, do what you need to do, take a couple naps if you can talk yourself into taking the time, I'm here on the board today, afterall.


ETA: I hate that you're out there driving this tired.

I'm going to pray everyone on the road behaves themselves around you, including any deer.

Hang in there Traveler!. At times like this we have to look within us to find the strength to move forward.

In a little corner of your heart there is a little pocket where you hold all things that are dear to you. Take a peek in there and count all the blessings that you have been given. It is these blessings that keep us together when the winds of life blow hard against us.

I will keep you in my prayers tonight.

Being the nurse to hubby after knee replacement is a full time job. My orthopedic surgeon MAKES patients go to a skilled nursing facility until the patient learns to get into and out of bed and to the toilet on their own. He says he has seen too many fractured marriages when a spouse become the nurse.

Your hubby is lucky to have you.

But you know I am going to warn you about overdoing it. It is a major no-no in lyme world.

At chicknorris ...vertigo was one of my first serious symptoms ...

at trav my gf has a saying she tells her self ..like when her leg quit working .."suck it up cupcake " ..everybody has been aww and ooooh but this is my new motto as i herxules through what seem impossible ...

i have more stress than many could imagine ...so i do empathize however ..see above quote .

I see my doc next week and I plan on asking him about my family. I'm terrified I gave it to them all. And I'm feeling quite poorly right now so I'm trying not to fret about it too much. I'm afraid the guilt would just about crush me. But denial won't help. I will indeed bring it up. I gave my hubby the Horowitz questionnaire and he scored really really low. like 5 total points or some such ridiculous number.

Huge hugs, Trav. That was some hospital fiasco! You remind me of myself when my dh was in the hospital for 3 months. My lyme rage took over because of staff incompetence......long stories. We take care of our hubbies at the sake of our own health but we wouldn't have it any other way. I am whining (quietly) right along with you. Hang on tight! xxoo
