It might, and it might not. Honestly, it hasnt helped many with Lyme and co infections, or systemic candida, and adrenal fatigue. Considering my opinions on adrenal fatigue, ill not go further. But I will say, LDN can have a profound effect on HPA axis. Unless there are other issues. Remember, LDN basically doesnt do anything, other than help your body fight these conditions by modulation your immune system. LDN isnt a wonder drug.

mokeyho - if you're unsure, just hold off for a bit.

You're starting two new meds - bactrim and Mepron...and you want to know how you react to those first.

Are you starting one at a time?

He told me to replace tindamax with bactrim and continue the doxy and rifampin. And start the mepron at once per day and work my way up to two tsp twice per day. I just feel really off lately. I only realized this week that things have been creeping in over the past few months, so that's when I decided to get my eyes checked and go back to LLMD. Thanks Girlie. smile

I'm not sure why I need LDN. I was doing fine until September. July or August I stopped the mepron. Oh one other thing.... my folic acid was low at 3.7. Doc had me take daily folic acid and retested me after three months and my folic acid was normal again. I stopped taking folic acid. Just had new blood work done so I'm wondering if my folic acid is low again. I will know soon.

Are you going to take the Rifampin and Mepron on the same days?

I planned to. Would an antibiotic be effective if taken every other day? I hadn't considered taking them different days. Last time I took mepron twice per day, though one tsp 2x per days vs two tsp 2x per day, I took it with the other three. I took the pills together and then the mepron with a tsp of peanut butter. The bottle says to take with a fat. I take doxy, Rif and tindamax, soon to be bactrim on an empty stomach. Rif is two pills once per day. Not sure why that is. Maybe I misinterpreted but the instructions are written different than the other pills. Rif: take two capsules daily on an empty stomach. Doxy: take one capsule twice per day.

mokey many doctors prescribe rifampin 2 pills 1x day so i'm sure the script is correct. rifampin, doxy, bactrim and mepron is definitely a strong cocktail to throw at bart and babs you should make strides against it if that is what's ailing you.

Taking Rifampin with Mepron can make the Mepron less effective.

But occasionally I have seen them prescribed together.

I'm supposed to start this today. I am nervous about it--my symptoms are occasionally bad, but more often than not they are tolerable. I don't want the pain masked--I want the cause healed. I'm really not sure what to do. Plus the fact that it acts neurologically makes me nervous--I don't know if my brain should be messed with anymore.

Im taking Riffy once daily now (2 caps) - I am feeling TERRIBLE.

Either it's hitting it harder...or I'm getting worse? Praying it's a herx.

Girlie I just starting taking Rifabutin once daily (2 caps) for my 4 day a week cycle (Fr-Mo) and starting on Saturday afternoon the severity in symptoms started up. Last night I slept maybe 45 minutes and I'm in bad shape today.

Like you the question is am I getting to a deeper level of infection given the higher concentrations in my system or getting worse? Argh!

It's freaking me out...have had some really rough moments...freaking out my husband, too.

I did feel somewhat like this prior to the double dose/once daily Rifampin - and that was when I took the Bactrim for about two weeks.

I've got some pretty bad burning nerve pain entire back area....and my head - the pressure behind my eyes...

I went into the grocery store...and before I left the car...my husband asked me to get some sandwich meat...and he said get 300 grams. That's all I really had to remember.
I also had to find something for dinner...I wandered aimlessly through the store...looked at all the meat...nothing appealed to me...looked at the produce...nothing appealed to me...picked up a Romaine lettuce...put it back down...looked at the Mandarin oranges...thought about what garbage they're spraying on them...went to the deli - and ordered 100 grams of chicken breast.
That's all I bought - never bought anything to make for dinner.

Got back home...and told hubby I only got 100 grams...totally forgot how much to get...

...and didn't buy anything to make for dinner....

I thought yesterday was Tuesday - totally messed up...hoping today is better.

At least I slept alright...

Yup sounds like we're in the valley (again ;). I can't sleep as I have to work and have a work function tonight so I'm really going to be a mess later.

The problem with sleeping is when I lay flat my chest "thumping" gets real bad. This has been going on for a year since I started Bart treatments and no matter what I do I can't get it to disappear. It's gotten better at times and I can sleep but never goes away.

Can you sleep on your side?

When I sleep on my back, I tend to have a wake-up and sweat...for some odd reason.

So, i try to spend some time on my right side. But, the problem is that side...it aggravates my shoulder - tendon.

Can't sleep on my left side...that's where my original symptoms of nerve issues are...don't want to aggravate that either.

I can't believe sleep has become this complicated for me...I used to sleep like a baby...

On either side makes it worse than my back. During these episodes if I can sleep at all it has to be upright in a chair with an ottoman or incline. i also have to put some pressure on my chest to stop it from thumping so much and causing pain. wish i knew precisely what was happening but no one can tell me since nothing shows up on any test.
