Lately for a week I started noticing some tingling on my lower half of face. Then around night time I get so much irritation that I want to constantly itch it. There is redness present as well. Is it a rash? fungal, bacterial or viral? The temperature is freezing here, could it be due to cold? dermatitis, psoriasis?? When I dont shave U get this flaky peeling skin around my mouth and when I do shave its all red. Please help, I have tried coconut oil but after a few minutes it starts to burn like crazy. So now I am trying aloe vera and a combo of bentonite clay+charcoal+aloe vera paste to soothe the area.

Sam, I can't do aloe, I am allergic to it and I break out. I found out the hard way.

Coconut oil is way too much for my skin. Way too much oil for my face. I have to just barely use a little.

I made my own hand/face lotion and it is the best. No added junk.

Actually, it sounds suspicious of a yeast infection. It could be a dermitis of some sort, but because you are in treatment with heavy doses of abx (all Lyme patients are), the first thing to suspect and check for would be a candida/yeast infection.

Do you have any other signs/symptoms of yeast/fungal issues? There's a really wonderful post by Pirouette at the bottom of page 2 of our "New to Lyme?" thread that you may find very useful.

Do be sure to talk to your LLMD about this as well, as they will be able to actually diagnose and treat you, or will send you to a Dermatologist possibly.

Thats what I feel it might be as well. I always have issues with gut, have had for years now even before this happened. Also no energy for years. I will check that page out again. My LLMD prescribed Fluconazole which I took every 3 days, but this was 3 months back. I still have a refill left, so maybe I will go for it. Went to a dermatologist back in October and she said everything looked good, that she noticed some folliculitis. Maybe I should go back now.

Sounds like histamine overload ,mcad or leaky gut...have you treated parasites sam?

This was happening to me also on the face very recently. Its gonna force me to stay shaven. There is an unusual itching reminiscent of fungal/yeast but its not quite presenting as such.

Its similar to the subcutaneous localized itching that I am experiencing from time to time. Recently its relegated to my face and upper body. It doesnt begin with a rash on my end unless you scratch it.

I am also having excess mouth skin and minor gum issues.

I am also suffering dry patches where it normally would be oily. I am using coconut oil to moisturize but this does not relieve it right away.

It comes on and stays for a few days and then resolves. I am currently treating for parasites with Ivermectin and await the mebendazole as I have good reason to suspect I may have a subcutaneous parasite that Iver doesnt clear.

I have recently gone back to diflucan (Fluconazole) every few days to see if this might help. I added a Ketoconazole shampoo. My problems began with mold/yeast. These seem to help.

Bluelyme- I was using cryptolepisfor any parasites

ChickenArise- yes I do use Nizoral and it does seem to help but redness still there.

Would Vaseline be bad to use after Nizoral to prevent moisture loss?
