I did not mean to step on anyone's toes. We can sit here and argue semantics, but that will be fruitless in the end, we all have Lyme, and we all have our own treatment and dilemmas. I wish you all the best, especially your mom, Prislociraptor.
I was only pointing out some information that you didn't see/understand ...that she had indeed healed the first time...but was reinfected.
No argument.I really didn't see, but i am able to understand it. Also, when I said, "We can sit here and argue semantics" that was a reference to terminology such as "healed" v. "cured", not a literal argument. I think discussions like these are a great way to expand our perspectives.
TLDR:
- I believe Lyme is curable, not only healable, with a standard long term multi drug therapy. I believe current the major reasons treatment fails are because the Borreliosis hides in areas of body that are not vascular and create a protective biofilm. We need a long term drug therapy (and more research to find effective drugs) to penetrate and break up these biofilms, I also believe 90% of those affected will heal with a standard three drug regimen, like TB.

- Others do not believe it is curable, only healable with various treatments. Others also believe the major reason for ineffective treatment are due to the the different strains of Borreliosis and confections and that one treatment will not be effective for everyone, only on a case by case scenario.
Both very valid arguments, with supporting evidence, and the answer may or may not come. Thanks for engaging in dialogue with me, sorry if I came across abrasive. I am currently working on my senior thesis for Lyme, and have come to my own conclusions, so I do have a bias. However, it is great to hear other viewpoints, I will certainly use them in my paper.
