Burning sensation on skin

Lately, when I exercise, and start to perspire, and the wind hits, I get a burning prickly sensation on my skin. My friend, who I was walking with, and who also has Lyme suggested maybe it was toxins being released? I just wonder if anyone else has this condition...I am healing and it was one of my first symptoms about a year before I was diagnosed, so maybe its part of the the reverse symptomology..

I get that sometimes too....it's sometimes like the sun is shining directly on one part of my skin (but I'm inside away from the sun) and other times it feels as though something very hot is right next to my skin....mostly I get this on my arms but have had it on my belly and legs a few times too. I have a lot of neuro symptoms and just figured it was my nerves mis-firing. It's never extremely painful, just noticeable and interesting.

I have no idea other than the mis-firing of nerves what it could be. I would suggest that when you exercise, you get your lymph system and everything moving and possibly for you it is the release of toxins or just the direct area you're feeling it is draining or something?

I have been experiencing the terrible/severe burning in my heels up to back of knees. I tried to discuss with my Neurologists, who ignored me. I developed Small Fiber Neuropathy . I researched it and Lyme disease IS a cause. My Neurologist refuses to admit Lyme disease and wont look at my positive westblot and other positive results. I basically go to him for my neuro symptoms. currently being treated with IVIG every 4 weeks with IV fluids and IV Zofran x 5 days.
I was treated by LLMD with IV meds 3 months but financially had to discontinue seeing him for now.
My burning is severe at times.
any advice will be appreciated also.

My husband had that happen when he was on doxy too.

My mother has had the same burning sensation on her skin for the last year.
Gabapentin(Neurontin) helps for skin burning. She takes 300 mg in the AM and 300 mg in the PM. This is enough to help her feel better. She has been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and she developed skin burning during doxy treatment(400 mg a day).
We later spoke to another LLMD who said that he never uses 400 mg doxy a day anymore because it can cause peripheral neuropathy similar to my mom. Now he treats only with 200 mg doxy a day and pulse second antibiotic.
We tried to treat my mom's burning skin with different supplements and prescription meds and nothing has helped. ONLY Gabapentin has helped. Try it.

Last winter after hot tub .the cold wind hit it felt like burning...i getatch like burn on my hand too..i think it is definitely a nerve related thing ...more twitching more fire ...maybe bart?

I am a Lyme/Babesia/etc., sufferer, and I am currently on Dr. Zhang's Chinese Herbal treatment, as well being in the middle of a ten week Bicillin injectable shot therapy(although I haven't had my shot for about a month). I get intense burning sensations(the worst being in my chest and legs). I have severe PN, and have just recently began taking Gabapentin at night(1 300mg tablet). I also take 1 25mg Librium pill per day, along with 1 to 2 0.1 mg clonidine pills per day. I also take a bunch of detoxing supplements. I have had horrible mornings for the past 2-3 weeks, with the neuropathy, the headaches, the persistent rapid breathing, lower back pain, and worst of all the rampant ANXIETY, which is mostly experienced physically through my compromised nervous system(although I do get some strange thoughts at times as well). I just took a 300mg pill a short time ago, and this is the 1st time I have taken the Gabapentin during the day. I hope it helps-it will probably knock me out, although I am a pretty big 56 year old man. I believe the burning is from the Herxing, and I think it gets worse when my neuropathy is really bad. I would welcome any and all thoughts or suggestions on tis topic, as I continue on this nightmare roller coaster ride with this INSIDIOUS disease. It was my birthday yesterday, and so I ate allot of stuff that I try not to normally eat, and I think that adds to the level of pain and suffering.

This symptom started for me when I was weaning off benzos so I can only assume it has something to do with GABA-glutamate imbalance, cytokine cascades, or histamine release from MCAS.
