DNA Connexions test while on Abx?

So I'm going to bite the bullet and get the Lyme panel done. They have to receive your urine on either Mon, Tues or Wed to ensure viability. I'm on my abx regimen F,Sa,Su,M.

Should I stop abx a few days before to ensure a higher chance of being positive for something I have, or does it not matter cause when you kill the bugs via abx their dead DNA is in your urine?

I wouldn't stop treatment for the test, no, unless you need to take a break for a few days anyway.

I don't think it's necessary.

I was on herbs, no abx. I wish I would have exercised harder and not been in such a rush to send sample off. I only waited 45 minutes after exercising instead of hour before taking sample.

Did you get your results? Did they not get there in time the first time...and you sent a second batch?

Rikky - i would call them and ask about the abx. They've answered both times I've called.

So I spoke to DNA Connexions this morning. They said to speak to your doctor on whether to stop abx but his short answer is it depends. It depends on what bugs you're looking for as certain antibiotics affect certain kinds of bugs. The guy also said dead bug parts in the urine don't hang around very long so they don't really measure those they're looking for live bugs. To me that would dictate stopping abx for a few days so you can get the bug load up to have a better chance at spotting them.

Talked to my LLMD he doesn't know the particulars on this test because its not in New York but said don't take abx the day of the test.

They are out of colorado..no doctor needed so its ok they have a disclaimer going both ways on diagnosis...
