In a previous post, I said that last night was pretty rough for me.. I have lyme/babesia.. only being treated for lyme right now... I couldn't get a good breath and my heart was racing... Today I still don't feel right.. I just feel like I'm not having normal breathing... This happened earlier on in the treatment of lyme, but it went away.. During that time, I had an EKG which was normal and it was dismissed as part of lyme.. it's just scary.. I feel like I have asthma..normal??
I had the same thing happen to me... it scared the begeebees out of me. We even called 911 one night... it was my second "attack" and I thought for sure I was having a heart attack. I had a minor "blip" on my LLDr's EKG machine soon after... and it all snowballed into heart test "he!!". I am very thankful though that there is nothing wrong with my heart and that I had the testing done and can rest easy on any heart problems for now.
I've had a few "attacks" since then and a few beginnings of an attack that dissipated before going full blown. I think I've figured out that it's more of a muscle spasm. My rib cage tightens up and then barely releases and then tightens up again and after a few more times it all goes back to normal for a breath or two... then it's all repeated for approx. 15 to 20 minutes. It's very scary, but the best remedy I've been able to come up with is to drink cool water and lay face down of my bed with my head hanging a little over the edge. I tell myself to take steady breaths and that it's just a cramp and will go away.
I hope this helps. If you need more reassurance, I would suggest a check-up with a cardiologist whao can run the basic tests and help put your mind at ease.
