Hey Mamla
I wish I could say that my story was one that would inspire you, but it's not.
It should be mentioned I do not live in the U.S and my insurance is backing my treatment, as some have begun to do knowing the long-term cost of non-treatment into complex other issues (I have a public health system, insured by my gov't and private work insurance for perscript
ions). I am starting what I am hoping to be a 9 month multi antibiotic treatment. This could have been as little as 2-3 months (fairly reliably) if treated from the initial bite.
I was treated early with 21 days of doxy. I thought I was in the clear as the immediate acute effects were gone. Over the next 2 years I developed many health issues I accumulated to aging and general lifestyle changes. More than I would like to admit ended up with me in the emegency room. Unfortunately I did not realize the other side of the lyme story and was convinced it could in no way be lyme, so I agreed (its my Dr, of course he's up to date on controversial diseases and has done his own research right?).
Anyways here I am, I went untreated for too long that it seems I will have indefinite complications from the infection. Screw what the others say about
not pushing you to seek proper treatment, I think you would be making a huge mistake personally knowing what I know now. Your odds are low and the world knows it, despite what American politics think of it (to be frank).
I would recommend buying a book by Stephen Buhner, it's called "Healing Lyme: Second Edition". He comes from a very well known medical family and is a very educated man. His book will explain to you the nature of the bacteria in simple terms and the way that it reacts when it changes from a tick to a human host. You may draw timeline similarities and better understand what could really be happening in your body now.
I really hope you educate yourself beyond your doctors opinion. I was told by 10+ that it couldn't be lyme. Look what it was after all and I'm getting better now, I hope to be my old self one day.
Goodluck, and I hope I don't get to say "I told you so."
Also edit to add: You mentioned this forum can't do anything for you.... it really can. It helped network me to find proper individuals educated to modern standards (not 1970's) of lyme disease treatment.
