Robby - There are some docs who believe you should NOT treat asymptomatic lyme. I don't know which way is right. However, if she is asymptomatic there is no way to tell if treatment is working. Also, it is entirely possibly that her immune system is able to handle the lyme (I think there are a LOT of people out there like this). This is basically the goal of chronic lyme treatment since we know as of now there is no cure. In treating her, it can
open a whole can of worms. Abx will lower her immune system (by destroying gut flora). I am not saying you should not treat, in fact, my husband who tested positive did treat for a month as well (doxy/amoxy/probenicid). He felt absolutely nothing and was not willing to take abx for longer than a month with no symptoms. A year later he is still fine. However, if he does start to get lyme-like symptoms we know what to do. In general, we just try to eat well (low gluten, organic, low sugar) and are starting to juice in addition to our regular smoothies. I am also looking at all environmental factors to lower toxin load (possible mold, water, air, soaps, cleaning stuff, cooking stuff, etc). Just thought it was important to give you this other viewpoint.
