*** UPDATE JANUARY 16, 2018 ***
Update from Hansa visit #4 January 2018 -- things continue to progress further. My blood tests were dramatically better in all regards. I continue to show that my body is handling the Lyme/Bart/Babs and all is in balance. EBV is also being handled, and parasites were only found in my small intestine this time, instead of systemically everywhere. Ammonia was also in balance. The docs have begun to do some cool things related to genetics and which vitamins/minerals etc. go with which SNP. It's not at all the same thing as doing a 23 and Me or similar, but they can figure out certain blockages now. I'm sure that this new stream of testing will continue to grow and mature as they learn more. We also did some very cool things related to autoimmunity that has really created some turmoil the last few days.... but even though we are still in the road to discovery, I am definitely on the road to recovery, and each visit digs down to new layers. It's very exciting, and I am more hopeful than ever for a new life of wellness. Not only do I feel better, with better energy and less confusion and pain, I can see the future, healthy me.
I have met the most wonderful people at the clinic and it's wonderful when you meet someone there that you have spent time with during a previous visit. So much positivity and support.
I don't come out here very often anymore simply because life is happening off my computer now. Please message if you have any specific questions.
Sincerely, 3Hump
*** UPDATE March 28, 2017 ***
so, we are now well past 2 months coming home from Hansa. I cannot wait to go back (in May). things continue to improve, but not without total dedication on our part. Healing is definitely a journey. By effort, I mean we have adjusted our sleeping/working/eating patterns. Moving everything to earlier. For us, that is difficult as we have worked a later shift at our office for 25 years. But to heal, it is necessary.
- Sleep is great
- workouts are doing great. I am back to working out 5 days per week
- energy is good. I am still tired and sluggish in the morning until I am up a while
- neuro symptoms are basically resolved. That in and of itself makes me feel tons better. I had so much vertigo, panic, anxiety and brain fog/lack of concentration that I didn't realize until it was gone. I am so calm now. It's awesome
- We successfully caught the flu, then a cold after we came back. It was a hellish 2 weeks, but at the same time we embraced it because we were that group of folks who didn't have the ability to get 'normal' sick for years and years before... boy, I thought i was one great sanitary hand washer. We called it flu and friends because I know there was more to it than just a flu or cold. We were attacking various enemies... but it was so fantastic to finally have an immune system response!!!
- response to questions from our doctor are quick and effective and always helpful
I don't know what else to say. This process will work. I know it will. I am excited to go back and dig into further levels and see if I can't get back to where I used to be. It is expensive, but we have worked thru our remedies and now are just taking maintenance vitamins like magnesium and zinc and fish oil... I gotta say, that is nice (and cheap!)
------------------- original post below -----------------------
Hansa Center was absolutely amazing for us, but it will not be right for everyone. I stumbled onto youtube videos from the doctors, and they resonated with us (Hubs & I) in every way. We decided together, after doing a lot of research that it sounded like a perfect place for us. If you only know allopathic medicine, then you need to understand that this clinic is the farthest thing from, and it may not resonate with you. We are all different and have different needs. At this moment in our journey, Hansa Center was absolutely the best thing we have ever decided to do for our health,
My disclaimer: I am not a chemist. I don't understand all of the anatomy or chemical reactions in the body. I trust the doctors as that is their job. I am simply stating details of my experience. I am just a
random sick person who is trying to find optimal health so that I will be the best me I can be. It
was beginning to seem like a pipe dream, and then we found this clinic. We got to work with the perfect
doctor for us. There is not one twinge of regret after the trip. No matter the outcome, this was right. Every person there wants to see you get well, and they make it an utterly enjoyable experience, which I didn't think was possible.
They do not treat any specific diseases/conditions. They help balance the body so that it functions effectively and recognizes bad vs. good. Then it can essentially heal itself. hubs & I truly believe the body can heal. Providing a clean and balanced environment allows healing to happen. It was our belief that led us to our decision.
Is it expensive? Yes, but so was what we were spending on doctors, tests, herbs, supplements and so on each year for the last 17 years... We spent a minimum of 6 hours every day at the Center seeing the doctor and receiving therapies. For that, it's fairly priced for sure. We will be going back again in a few months.
Am I well? No. Do I feel better today than before I went? Absolutely and emphatically yes! For the first time
in what seems like a lifetime, I know that I can get well, but it is a marathon not a sprint. They
do their job, but they definitely expect you to come home and do your job. We need to make some lifestyle adjustments. Finding optimal health will be a team effort.
Did I Herx? Absolutely. I was actually very under the weather for days 4-8 of this trip. It was not terrible, but
it definitely kept us in the hotel when we were not at the clinic and thru the weekend. On day 9 (day 7 at the clinic), after my doc appointment, a fog lifted from my head that had been there for who knows how long. I felt a clarity that is still lasting, and fogginess and dizziness are gone. I am alert
. I feel rested. I am sleeping from 11:30 until 7:00 AM without waking up. No chills. No sweats. Just sleep. Refreshing sleep. There is also a continuous digestive exorcism going on in my gut ... but the garbage has to come out from somewhere... I know I will be healthier for persevering thru it, but it isn't so fun now. The fact that I'm seeing stuff happen is amazing.
Did other people get well there? I will never make that judgement for someone else, but everyone seemed happy that they came to the center, and we definitely observed changes in people for the better. We all supported each other every day. It was wonderful. We made lasting friendships.
What tests do they do? They do comprehensive blood work panel. They do a very detailed thermography test. Coupling that with the blood work gives them a great start showing systems out of balance. They find details with daily bioresonance scanning which uses frequency to dig deeper. The details that come out of this are incredible. They were able to detail imbalances issues beyond any doctor I've ever been to see.
What therpaies do they do? Everything is about
bettering circulation and healing at the cellular level. We did all of the therapies our doctor requested. It definitely varied per patient.
I am not a person who blogs how I feel. It's personal to me. I will talk about
it briefly here to make my points, and anyone can PM me with questions. I have nothing to hide, I am just pretty private. I will say that what they found was what I expected. But they broke it down farther, and the remedies I have are more focused now and not something for the masses. They're customized for me and me alone to a detail I've not had before.
I have received much help on this forum. It would not be fair to go on without sharing our experience of Hansa Center because I see folks asking about
it on here frequently. It is not for everyone, but I know there are other folks out there just like me that would likely benefit greatly from this wonderful place.
What they found (partial):
- Confirmed Mercury, but only in my thyroid. I've been treating Hashimoto's for a very long time, but it isn't
- Confirmed Lyme/Bart/Myco/parasites (LLMD thought it was Babesia and I thought Bart based on rashes from herbs)
- ammonia toxicity/histadine intolerance/magnesium & zinc deficiency
- poor kidney/liver/spleen function
- No adrenal issues/no leaky gut/no vit. D issues/no mold issues/no fungus issues
- Our biggest challenge is to beat the insomnia and sleep thru both REM cycles, fixing our circadian rhythm.
We started day one with a new sleep routine as we had no other commitments. It's only been 5 days, but we are at a 100% success rate so far in being in bed by 11:30 at the latest and working 8 to 5 instead of 10 to 7.
Symptoms that are better:
- Head issues like dizzy/foggy/concentration. I have a clarity now that has not been there in many years.
- Insomnia is better. I'm tired at night instead of anxious and wired.
- Joint pain is better. I've worked out 3 days this week.
- Circulation is much better. I feel rested when I get up, and I have more morning energy.
- eye twitching & word loss is much better. I can finish a thought when I speak or type.
- anxiety level has dropped. I can actually feel calmness, especially at night. Anxiety is there but less often.
This all ebbs and flows as I still get knocked back here & there from the remedies, but it has been so long since I have felt anything but absolutely terrible that it's amazing. UBI/ozone definitely helped me, but I didn't realize the ammonia issues and organ issues that I was causing by killing the bugs. In hindsight, I should have asked those questions before UBI treatment, but lack of knowledge is a big hurdle... we live and learn, many times the hard way since we don't get support from the medical world.
I will end with this: The weight that has been lifted off of my shoulders of having to constantly research and find my own answers, and juggle supplements and take pills or tinctures all day every day... that stress is gone! With blind faith we jumped off and Hansa caught us in their net, providing safety. That weight being gone is a miracle. This is likely part of the placebo effect that gets talked about
, and that's fine. I am happy to take that meaningless pill, because it's actually completely meaningful to me. I do tend to get my hopes up and think that every new treatment will work, then it doesn't... but this situation feels different. Zero hesitation to trust our Hansa doc completely.
Rebalancing the body feels absolutely right on. There is a long way to go, but for the first time since my Lyme diagnosis, doubt is gone. Only time will tell if I'm right this time
