Yesterday was awful. My neck and shoulders seized up and it was very difficult to move. I also got such bad motion sickness and vomited just from that.
Today my stomach is still pretty queasy. I can move a little better but not much. I feel like I got hit by a truck. Going to just a lot of ginger tea and stay on liquids today.
Does anyone else get this neck/stomach thing with severe motion sickness? I can't help but think it's connected. And I'm thinking it could be Bart attacking nerves.
I have my appt tomorrow...I really need this guy to help me!

That sounds like Lyme meningitis. At least that's how it hits me. I usually end up with a migraine too -if not the first day, no doubt by the 3rd day.
But, personally, I've not had the Lyme meningitis last for more than a week. I was miserable the whole week though. =(
I just pamper my body through that week - liquids only when necessary (with LOADS of ginger, because I HATE throwing up- long story), easy to digest foods when I get back on solid food (because by then my innerds are in a complete uproar), dark rooms, soft jammies, soft pillows all around me...... and my pups with me on the bed for added comfort.
Heat helps my neck a little bit - and makes me feel like I'm at least doing something too.

Can meningitis really just come and go like that?
Whatever it is, it's miserable. I like your suggestions...but I have to work today

Yes, me too. It's horrible. It can take up to a week to get better. I couldn't find anything that would make it go away. Naps helped a little.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! Do what you can to help ease your way through the day then - and I hope it's very short lived for you!!!!
It's not "true" meningitis. It's the symptoms of it - if that makes any sense. The lining around the brain is swollen, and that's what's causing the symptoms.

PMM73,
Sorry you are going through this. Did you being any new treatment that can be a herx?
This sound like exactly what I woke up with.
Last night I was tired and got chills (I never get those nor fall asleep on sofa), wokeup with pain in neck, head, arms, dizziness, nausea - I NEVER get nauseous. Thought it was a herx.
Never heard of Lyme meningitis.
Well you guys teach me something every day.
Hope it eases up for you soon - feel better.

I have experienced the neck and shoulder thing for the first time recently. In general, the left side of my neck is always stiff, some days more than others, but I can't turn my neck to the left. I have also continuous pimple like bumps on that side of my neck. They are not pimples, just small skin bumps that keep reappearing...only on that side.
When I had the neck/shoulder thing it was new and felt painful to use my arms or do anything that would require sudden movement. I didn't have the nausea though.

NJ,
Sorry about
that. Were you bit on the left side? I have noticed that all my symptoms are on same side as bite, same for my son too.
Could the bumps be lymph nodes?
I do the lymph massages that Trav linked (thanks Trav for the endless links)
I also began Jernigan Borrelogen and my stiff neck finally went away. I know we are all different but thought I would put that out there.
When I had it muscle rub or Tiger balm plus magnesium oil spray helped a lot.
