I also take ginger and turmeric - good stuff.
Fish oil, GLA, tulsi holy basil, gingko biloba, and reishi mushroom are other supplements with anti-inflammatory properties that I take.
As far as exercises, keep them light until the muscles are stronger. Simple leg straightening is good (the old, sit on edge of bed or chair, straighten one leg at a time until it's parallel to the floor or as close as you can get, hold for count of 3, lower and relax. Repeat.).
