So i spoke to fellow lyme friend and she said high markers could indicate the bacteria has multiplied and grown based on its shape into cyst form. Is this true?
No, because we don't make antibodies to the cyst form of the bacteria - only to the spirochete form.
This is a cyclical type of infection - even if we aren't in treatment, the bacteria have a cycle that they go through, and if "caught" at just the right time, there are more spirochete active at certain times in our bloodstream. If blood is drawn during that period, when the most antibodies are being created, then our test values will be higher.
When we are in treatment, the bacterial loads lower, and the immune function has a chance to 'come back' and will start making more antibodies against the bacteria - also providing more reactive bands.
Personally, I believe that the reason many doctors don't believe it is fear - they don't want to jeopardize their careers/fear of change in the science.
