I'm so happy for you. This is so inspirational. You need to add your story to those who healed

I was reading all that you have been taking so it sounds like you were diligent (and strong!).

Your emotions sound normal and I bet they will be temporary. I can't speak for everyone but Lyme sort of takes up all of our thoughts and time. You are now figuring out the 'new you'. I imagine there is some PTSD with lyme too, like the worry of a relapse or reinfection. Stay positive and LIVE YOUR LIFE!!

Please keep us updated and congratulations! Did you do other stuff besides abx? How long was your treatment all together? I'm only doing herbs now but LLMD wants my son to do IV abx.

Thanks for sharing this. I wonder why this happens. Interesting fact to look out for.

I only took abx, 10 months, no pulsing.

The funny thing was that instead of symptoms disappearing or lessening gradually, it felt like I woke up one day and it was gone.

The insomnia was the first to go. Then air hunger. Then the pulsing and brain fog started to happen less often (seventh month). One week after IV rocephin, it was gone.

I couldn't feel it anymore. Because before I could sense them in my neck and outside my head (like a low burning/pulsing sensation).

Caution # 1: I put a pick line in my arm, and because I am a small person, my veins are small, and I got blood clots. 1 week at the hospital ($$$). They removed the pick line and added a central line in my chest.

Caution # 2: I got an yeast infection on my chest close to the central line. It was horrible. So at the slightest sight of itching, ask the doctor for the cream and power for yeast (prescription).

Now, all is well, except my mood. I lost my mojo and feel like crying almost all the time. Too broke to see professional help. I think it will go away overtime.

Thank you NotQuiteAntonio. I've been thinking about what to do next. But nothing comes to mind, except exercise. I suppose I have to wait for my mind to adjust. It's hard to explain.

Congratulations, LongJourney!!! That is wonderful news!!

If you wouldn't mind writing up a basic outline of your story (similar to what you wrote above, only with a few more details of your journey) we would love to be able to add it to our success stories!!

As for what to do next? Since exercise is what comes to mind, just take it slow! Remember to watch how much stress you allow back into your life and on your body, particularly right now.

Then, just take your time. Reintegrate yourself back into your life. Decide what you wish to do - do you have the same goals? If not, how have they changed and what do you wish now? Just think about it and the steps to do whatever you wish to do.

Do you wish/need to go to work? Do you wish to work doing the same thing as before? If not, what direction do you wish to go now?

It's a lot to consider, and if you have the time, I would encourage you to take your time and think things through - one day at a time, just like when you were in treatment.

Huddle is so right about PTSD. I have been in remission and relapsed several times and the PTSD has been worse every time. My Dr. acknowledges how real it is. I think it's relative to the degree of trauma we go through. It feels so strange to just do normal things again.

As Traveler said - one day at a time. That's how we get through the illness and how we re-enter life but I still think in some ways we're permanently changed. I know I am. It can be a good thing if we let it.

You are both very inspiring!

I definitely wouldn't get anything related to Lyme, at least not directly. I don't want for it to be a part of my life forever, though it might be. People who get the Lyme ribbons or whatever tattooed are cool, but I don't move like that.

I'm big on word tattoos. Petite text. Personal. In my own handwriting. It's my signature: do the work, be the prize. It's got that generic, inspirational quote-sounding ring to it, but it is somewhat original; I stole it from a reddit user about a year ago. It was very moving for me at the time, and much appreciated submission. I hope he's still benefiting from it as I am. Who knows how I'll feel about it a few years from now, but I've got this idea that being rash and imperfect at times can be a beneficial part of... the human experience (?). It's part of living.

I don't care if they find out, but Outside of the internet, I'm not really a show-and-tell sort of person. I have to be prompted.

I worry about sharing much photographic evidence of my personal life on the internet, in case someone I know finds out about my existence here in the future. I'm not ashamed of it, but Lyme's such a tough subject to talk to laypeople about that I'd rather avoid it, unless absolutely necessary.

We'll just say that's not me, okay? I don't know those people, that is not my arm. I found these pictures on Google.

julymorning, I read online about the 2 months symptom free before stopping abx.

The story goes back to my saga to find a doctor. I went all the way to Mexico to see LLMD. Total of 4 trips. After many combinations of oral abx, the only treatment left for me to try was the IV. I could stay at the hospital in Mexico for a week taking IV abx, or I could try to find a doctor where I live.

So I found a doctor here that believes that lyme is cured with 1 month of IV rocephin. He believes that symptoms may linger for 6 months after that while the body recovers. So I went for it.

When the 1 month was over, we said our good byes and that was it. No follow up or nothing, in his mind I am cured.

Anyway, I bought some vitamin C and D last night. And I am taking a good quality probiotic.

Fingers crossed.
