There is not a reason why i don't think i have lyme...I'm certain I have it. After 6 years of being told I'm crazy It's more of me wanting to tell the VA to shove it up their tale pipe.
They are giving veterans bad press and making us look like victims
They have admitted that Veterans who test positive for Brucella and were in Afghanistan "likely" got it in Afghanistan. Yet they really don't do diagnostic testing for it...unless you know what you are talking about
as a patient.
I work as a Veterans Representative for the state I live in and I see SO many vets with the same symptoms all of you and I have. Yet they are doomed to a life of misery, because they are told they have anxiety and PTSD. Most army and marine vets have had multiple tick bites while in service and the Afghanistan Vets are admittedly exposed to malaria and brucella daily.
So far my doctor has been reluctant to order any more test even though my lyme titer was elevated and I showed specific band markers.
Bringing up brucella to the VA is a way to force them to get the full run of blood tests and maybe make at least one more doctor a little more aware that this stuff exists.
The VA will not treat it properly. I know, but for me to fight the system....I have to know the system. You all are great! Thank You
