Let the CDC know how you feel!!!!

For the first time in forever, the CDC has actually mentioned Lyme on their Facebook page. If you are on Facebook, please, please comment on their post. Inundate them with your stories. We need to be heard, and a public forum like Facebook is a great way. Here's a link to their post:

Wow, I don't have Facebook so I can't comment but reading all those comments... are they just trolls or do people really think we are certifiably nuts?

I hate people (not you guys/gals)... but really... I went on there and got so enraged at some of the comments. Not just ignorance, but blatant disrespect for suffering patients. I already wasted all morning in an online argument with someone who wanted to criticize simply to criticize. And there went my afternoon too... I don't understand it. How are people so complacent. So unwilling to accept that the answers to peoples problems are available right here right now. Do they just want to believe that they can defer all responsibility in life to specialists? What the mainstream says has to be true otherwise they have to take the responsibility to learn something? Help me understand what is wrong with people!! UGH

Some of those comments are hard to read. Some real jerks on that thread making fun of the sick.

Astroman, if given a chance, those kinds of people will tell you that that's why they pay their doctors for, to be their doctor.

It terrifies them too much to even consider that their dr., may be inadequate. I can imagine the feeling. I have changed from a person that always got that sense of relief and well being going to a Dr. or the e.r. when I thought something terrible was happening to me, to either keeping my mouth shut over all but the most basic things...like a sore throat....because they can't help with anything more serious.

My neighbor behind me 'fessed up about a year ago that he thought he had Lyme....and his symptoms seemed like it. But he told me the other day that it's "osteoarthritis", and the rest unknown, because he's "had a whole bunch of Lyme tests that were all negative".
Okay. What can you do with these people? They aren't going to listen.

Oh just stop astroman. I'm sorry your life is so goddarn tough. All doctors are ******s except LLMD's, got it. Grin.

You can take a horse to water, but you can't make them drink - or take a man knowledge, but you can't make them think. Those that want to learn will, those that won't will only throw back as much nonsense that they have heard as they can.

It's not worth upsetting yourself if it's truly upsetting, so be careful. I do get into those 'arguments' from time to time, but it's only with those that I see are truly searching for answers - the others just want to argue and don't care what resources they use or how they can be discredited.

So, do watch out for your own health when doing these things!

I gave it a glance last night, feeling strong enough not to let it rattle me...and felt the whole thing of getting into it would be a waste of time.

Again, talking to 'outsiders' about Lyme is like trying to change their religion. As Traveler says, they have to want to know, be unsatisfied with where they are and thirsty for answers.

Wish I knew some of your fb names that did post, so I can read your comments on there.

I posted on that site about persistence studies and also talked about how a top tier neurologist saw life-altering neurological problems with patients after the Lyme vaccine. I was very polite and cordial. I can no longer find my comments and believe they might have been deleted.

Hehe madison i know who you are!!! Not really i can't remember your name... I commented on that one too and can't find it. At the bottom it says 40 of 60 comments but won't let me load the others. So i don't know if they deleted it or if it just got lost in a computer glitch. But yeah... some serious ignorance. "No prominent neurologist believes in chronic lyme". Must be exactly why Norman Latov who is not a Lyme physician or has any vested interest in anything but peripheral nerve disorders refers to it as chronic Lyme in his paper on OspA induced CIDP... There's nothing i hate worse than crusaders of science who don't actually read science but rather support the status quo as if these organizations are gods. The irony is too much to handle
