LL Dr. appt. coming up - your thoughts on antibiotic choice

I'm currently on Mepron and minocycline.

I'm going to ask for a switch...but want something that goes with the Mepron and minocycline.

I've been on both biaxin and Ceftin...and can't decide which one...if I can 'sway' him - which one?

This is for Babesia and also Bartonella.

Your opinions?

I did use doxy - my first antibiotic.

It won't go with the minocycline though (both in tetracycline class)

What about bactrim? Dr h says it and dapsone both penetrate biofilm.

I'm a bit leery about bactrim.

I tried it - a second opinion LLND gave it to me - to take with azithromycin.

I got really bad burning nerve pain in my back...and it kind of freaked me out

I do get that symptom from the other antibiotics - but this was quite severe.

I do take Xylitol and lactoferrin for biofilms.

What schedule? I would add in a cell wall inhibitor like Ceftin or Omnicef.

Thanks, Fronton...I was on Ceftin when treating lyme - 2 years ago ...so maybe good one to try again.,

I was told Omnicef isn't available in Canada. Do you know if it is, MS?

...and my LLND seems to only prescribe the Ceftin.

I don't want tinidazole instead of a second antibiotic...because I want something I can take daily on the M-F week.
I could pulse tini, but don't want to take it daily. I might purchase the Tinidazole online.


My LLND won't prescribe Alinia - as he is just focussing on Bart or lyme...so it has to be a bart or lyme med.

I'm not too worried about the cost...so far my abx are 80% covered. (unless Alinia is exempt)

I would go with Biaxin as a good combo with Mepron

I say zith ..can be built up on a mwf ..and pairs well...you can get alinia on your own from adc if customs allows?

Has it been 3 years you have taken antibiotics?

Maybe it is time for a new protocol?

But the antibiotics you have taken before were just for lyme and now these new antibiotics are for Babesia?

I know so very little about antibiotics. It just seems like a long time to be on antibiotics to me.

Hi Girlie. I'm just curious what are your remaining symptoms?

I am feeling much better now just detoxing but I still got Bart but just taking a light anti microbial drink keeps the symptoms at bay. I just do a single dropper full of woodlandessence houttuynia, sida Acuta, cryptolepis, Hawthorne, and Japanese knotweed. It works it keeps me functional.

I think and in my opinion (please just take it for what it is), you need to get off the antibiotics. You are like me in that you are basically better but at a stalemate.

The antibiotics destroy the gut, all toxins in your body from your liver, squirt out through your gallbladder to eventually poop out. If your gut is damaged you absorb back all the toxins and it creates more inflammation in the body, immune system dysfunction and impairment occurs, and even microbes from the gut get into the blood
Stream. Now the immune system has all different kinds of stuff to look at and it makes it more difficult to focus on one thing at a time.

I am focusing now on detox, binders, Mercury binders, lots of l-glutamine, light anti-microbial herbs, and also parasites and candida.

Remaining symptoms - Nerve pain thoracic back, left arm and hand; nervous system shivers, pressure in head, pulsatile tinnitus (much better tho), POTS,
Sometimes I still get episodes of left rib pain, and occasionally will get anxiety when I wake in the morning.

I'm sure there are a few more.

It would be interesting if you tried the LDI and it knocked any symptoms out.

I am only giving the abx a year or two. Maybe less if I see no improvements.
