Hey Everyone,

My sleep is still bad, but now my muscles are getting sore? Im not really doing any exercise???? Is that normal??? What to do?

Sometimes with lack of sleep I would get so anxious that my muscles would get sore. I swear what I did was lay in bed and night all tense. Just laying there wondering if I was going to fall asleep.

It is so stressful to lay waiting on sleep.

I got a sound machine by my bed and that was helpful to knock out the noises but it is electrical and some say that electrical items by the bed are not good - EMFs.

So then I got a small radio and listened to night time talk radio - it bores me to sleep. But again the electrical field is close.

Benadryl was the most helpful for me. Children's liquid and I did the dose for an 11 yr old. I like the liquid because I have more control over the dosage.

I have used Kava kava, passionflower, valerian, melatonin, bach's rescue remedy, chamomile, and they all worked on a temporary basis.

Now hubby has tried those listed above. I just ordered him Sleepall by Hawaii Pharm. It is a combo tincture and we will see how that goes.

I also got him Blue Vervain - and here is why we will try that one: the most important health benefits of blue vervain include its ability to stimulate the liver, soothe the nervous system, detoxify the body, reduce depression and stress, eliminate pain, lower inflammation, protect the immune system, and alleviate chest congestion.

As you can see I may be healed, but we are still searching for hubby some relief in this area also. We just don't give up and keep on looking.

My doc had me do blood work through vibrant America and it showed that I have high inflammation....???

Is he gonna take those both? Or try one then the other? Also, do you think you need to titrate up on those herbs or take a full serving just before bed? Wonder if those work immediately or take time to start to help????

Inflammation is the root of most all disease. Even with a cold you have inflammation. And, with lyme - oh boy do we have inflammation.

Do you feel the inflammation? Do you have a headache? Swollen lymph nodes? Joints that don't move easily?

What did the doctor think was best to do for that inflammation?

The hardest thing to remember, when in the doctor's office, is ask "what do you mean?" and "what do I do now?"

I get all tongue tied and lost on my doctor's words and I just don't get out the questions I should ask.

So, I wrote myself a note on the top of my notepad that I take into his office "Ask Questions!!!"

Do not be intimidated. Ask the doc everything.

Some of the herbs we have had in our home forever. Kava kava, chamomile, valerian, melatonin, etc so those we are very familiar with and what our own personal dose is.

The new ones we have not tried are ALWAYS tried with just a single drop and slowly moving up and NEVER taken with another herb until we figure out the effects and side effects of that particular herb.

So ALONE and low dose and slowly move up on any new herb you try.

I don't have a headache? Maybe the joints in my fingers but I think my others are fine??? So hard to tell what's what???

Also - if you're not getting sleep...your body can't heal.

It could be affecting your muscles...(and more)

I know that for some LLMD's - correcting sleep and pain issues are just as important as treatment.

Agreed Girlie but I think I've literally tried everything??? I've tried all of the natural stuff and I've also tried many prescription drugs ( which I did not want to but if I can't sleep than how can the other stuff help ). So frustrating????? What to do????

You are fortunate. Your test shows inflammation but you are NOT feeling it and count that as a huge PLUS!!!

So, don't worry.

As you treat I bet the inflammation numbers will come down.

I so dislike it when docs tell you stuff but don't offer answers.

Also, make sure you do tell your doctor about the sleep problem. He might have an answer. I don't know about pharmaceuticals. They might have one that will give you some help that isn't super bad for you.

I was so strange. I would nap all day long and then have trouble sleeping. And then at times I would nap all day long and sleep all night.

Lyme is bi-polar and schizophrenic, I swear!

For sleep, have you tried Tryptophan? I had a doc tell me that Lidtke brand tryptophan is processed differently, and is therefore more 'potent'. I was using Ambien but needed to get off of it, and I transitioned over to the Lidtke brand tryptophan fairly well. I also use valerian, avena sativa, magnesium, melatonin one hour before bed to get the sleep I need (usually, lol!)

Have you tried Japanese Knotweed? Not for your sleep problems but for inflammation.

I've just started Japanese Knotweed about 2 weeks ago and I'm up to 6 drops 3x daily. I had a 3 pt cortisol test done and it was fairly normal. I do have low testosterone and my NP wants me to do a prescription gel???

Drez - this restricted diet my LLMD started me on has helped a lot with muscle pain. Now I seem to have a few good days and then a couple bad, then it repeats. He said the key is to avoid lectins, so no grains, cow dairy, nightshades, minimal sugar and I mix a smoothie with fruit, veggies and some powder he gave me to cleanse the liver. So if you haven't tried eliminating these foods, it may be worth a go.

Thanks, I've actually eliminated all of those about a year ago and since I've lost over 50pds...now 6'3" and 208pds. I believe it did help as I did get to the point of getting a broken 6-7 hrs with only Melatonin but since Christmas I've gone backwards for sure????

Dr. G in this article likes to get his patients more comfortable be attacking Lymeco. Sometimes that involves getting hormones in order. I'll probably switch to this doc soon as I'm not satisfied with my current doc.

BJD55... that's exactly what I have low Free testosterone but my testosterone is in range I think it was 367 but that is low in the normal range, my doc says she likes to see it in the 500+ area???

Interesting about the low free testosterone. My pcp and ND both said it's nothing to worry about if total is in range. The nurse practitioner just said I'm probably a better driver because of it. ☺️

Hard to say exactly but most nights it's 2hrs eventually after I fall asleep with the help of prescription drugs, then wake up then maybe another 2 hrs then sometimes if I'm lucky another 1 or 2??? But probably 4-5 broken hrs at most on average???

I wouldn't say that Drez isn't feeling the inflammation. - Sore muscles could indicate inflammation.

What does a proper adrenal support program mean? And has anyone used that organic maca herb???
