Psychological Symptoms of lyme disease

I was diagnosed with Lyme disease after feeling going to the doctor because I was feeling dizzy all of the time. Then I started to feel disconnected from everything, my emotions felt numb, I would have days when it felt like I had major depression then it would be not nearly as bad the next day, sometimes I would feel like things were less real, I would have panic attacks, and I can't seem to think or concentrate like I used to, i also get a feeling almost like I'm drunk or high, and I get thoughts and feelings of losing my mind, also I have vision problems, my vision is blurry and at night it is a lot darker than usual. I have now been cleared of Lyme but the psychological and vision symptoms are still going on. I am just wondering if the symptoms will go away on their own or If I should go see a psychiatrist or something.

How were you 'cleared' of lyme? There aren't any tests...you need to go by symptoms.

If you still have those symptoms...then you do need treatment.

You should do a detox/cleanse for your brain. A couple to consider:

I wouldn't go to a Psychiatrist for meds....at least not until you've tried to get the toxins out of your brain...and please reconsider more treatment.

It could still be lyme, the question of who cleared you is critical. Are they a llmd? What was your treatment plan? If it was 2 weeks of antibiotics and a bill of clean health it sounds like my initial experience which is hardly ever adequate.

If you're considering another round of treatment a lot of people have had success combining an herbal protocol with long term antibiotics. The reason borellia (the bacteria that causes lyme) is so difficult to treat is that it can shape-shift into many different forms and evade the antibiotics. It can become cyst like, it can live in bio films, which are big clusters of bacteria hidden in a mucous like protein - like fish eggs. It can even hide in a vacuole in your cell wall until it's safe to come out of hiding. Many people find that the herbals will help with the other forms.

Another thing to consider is the damage the bacteria has done to your physiological structures. It breaks down your collagen structures which include brain, nerve, eye tissue etc. It's important to repair and rebuild those damaged structures. You can use powdered collagen or gelatin. Also, Ashwaganda (powder) has been found to rebuild neural tissue.

It can be a long journey, but it is definitely worth it and no matter how impossible it seems you will find the path through it.

Another quick suggestion - I had a LOT of cognitive/visual and mood based symptoms early on and the thing that really turned it around for me was a dairy sugar and grain free diet. I cut out most starches - white potatoes for example. I was taking a lot of supplements and none of them made a difference until I changed my diet.

I just got cleared from lyme on Tuesday last week, I'm just wondering if it will take a while for my brain to heal.

You need to be on some kind of treatment program for 2 months past cessation of ALL symptoms that can be related to Lyme and co. "Co" meaning any co-infections that came with the Lyme such as Babesia, etc.
