Please, treat vision problems seriously - and I personally know how expensive that can be because when you are at the Retina specialist's door you are looking at $1000 + (hopefully less) for staring into many tests.
I have a partial retinal tear (old) but only found this out when I first had flashers and and floaters and tearing dry eyes and vitreous detachment (which can lead to severe retinal detachment and possibly blindness). I was told to rush back if it ever felt as if I was looking through a grey curtain...and you might be pressed with taking steroid drops too, which I refused - and there was always something else that helped.
Not to get too 'woo woo' for some, but I have seen animals (dogs, cats) in my line of business who took on their guardian's illness - and now my eyes are better while my dog's eyes have become severely dry with vision problems - again, sorry for the Boulder Co 'woo-woo', but my point is that your vision is priceless and it will change according to the dryness of your eyes - among other things, and an infection probably also changes the pressure balance of the eye?
If Lyme spirochetes are attracted to the aqueous humour, without even taking coinfections into mind, it must affect the vitreous humour, and any pressure change is serious stuff and could cause a lack of homeostasis which could also mean infection.
I have a great retina specialist who respects that she does not understand Lyme, and I hate to see anyone refused help due to their practitioner's lack of humbleness...Please persevere and find an eye Dr. who, if not Lyme literate, will at least understand that eye infections that come and go are not normal and should be taken seriously!
I wish you and yours a victory over this battle you are trying to fight...
