Band 41 means flagella...no good bugs have tails...do dna connexions test or microscopy if you need confirmation ..see western blot explanation on lymenet ...it look like a suppressed immune sx..i would say positive.welcome .from your username i presume you are symptomatic?

Band 31 is very specific to Lyme. Since that band is positive, I say that you have it. Google Lyme Bingo.

Welcome, Lifesux - I'm assuming you have symptoms of Lyme disease to prompt the Igenex test.

If a positive test result is important to you - you can call Igenex and have the Epitope test done on band 31. This is a test to confirm that it is due to Bb and not one of the rare instances that it's something else - like EBV.

The test is $105 I believe. You need to call soon while they still have your blood sample though. It might require your Dr calling.

But, even without the confirmation - it looks like you have Lyme disease - as it is rare that band 31 is something else.

You should start looking for a LLMD and schedule an appt for an evaluation.

Btw - you also have IND on some other Lyme specific bands - 34, 39, 23-25

IND is not negative - it means something showed up - just not dark enough to be considered a positive according to their criteria.

Thanks for the replies and thanks for that link. Since Im in arizona, lyme is not very prevalent here which took so long to diagnose.

Lyme is everywhere - it took me 15 months to get a disgnosis.
There are people living in Lyme, Conneticut who aren't diagnosed early on even.

Dna connexions is a pcr test you can do without a doc .no blood needed .
flagella is the "tails by which certain bacteria move .it allows borrelia to "drill" into any and all tissues.

You would know if you had syphalis or leptospirosis so pretty much means borrelia .

i did a second test with LabCorp , IgG/IgM Ab and the result was <0.91 and it was negative. So does this mean I still have lyme?

I had three bites with rashes , all the symptoms, six negative tests (and some even negative with IGENIX) and only after treating LD for three years did I get a positive......

Treatment was delayed for 6 YEARS because no one ever explained the testing to me with the false negatives......


My husband always tests positive and my son only sometimes...

Did you end up doing the Epitope test (Igenex) for $105?

Nope, it's not necessary. But, I'm gathering you're not happy with the Indeterminate result you got - is that what prompted the LabCorp test?

I did read once that they kept the blood sample for 3 months...but I don't know if that's correct.
You could just give them a call.

I was prompted to get the second test at the advice of a fellow member on this board. They were skeptical of their results and believe that Igenex produces a lot of false positives. I was content with IGenex.

Really? Someone on this forum said Igenex produces false positives? That's not right.
And no one posted to correct that comment? Sorry you got that information.
