Possible lyme disease?

Hey guys, this past month Ive been feeling really unwell. It started three weeks ago when I suddenly developed bone pain. It started in my lefy foot and within days spread to my whole body. My bones were really sore and tender. I went to the doctor and ran somd blood tests and what came back was that I was vit D deficient and thats what they blamed the bone pain on. Problem is , Ive been vit D deficient for so long and have never experienced tenderness and pain like this!! Ffw to now, Im having new scary symptoms. Body is numb and tingly, muscle pain and stiffness, heavy arms and legs,and EYE FLOATERS!! Also something bery scary, twitching!! Its not a little spot that twitches itll be my whole arm or my leg and its very unsettling. The muscle in my hand is so stiff that I find it hard to spread my fingers. Looking through the boards I noticed that bone pain was a symptom which makes me wonder if its correlated with my current symptoms as of right now. I am goong to the doctor tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before??

Welcome to the forum! So glad you found us.

The quick answer to your question is YES, bone pain and the other symptoms you mentioned can be associated with tick-born diseases (TBD), including Lyme and Bartonella. Bone pain is common with Bart, some of the other neurological symptoms you mention are also common with Lyme. Most people who have Lyme also have a co-infection and Bart is a common co-infection. We call these "Lyme & Co".

I think it would be worth it to read up as much as you can before your appointment tomorrow. However, most MDs - however great they are - are not knowledgable about Lyme & co and likely will not be able to make a diagnosis or even agree to test you or understand what to test you for, what tests to use or how to interpret the tests.

To understand this, please visit the "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the page - it has invaluable information in it and will help guide your conversation with your MD. You likely will need to find a Lyme specialist and we can help you do that, too.

I would post this information on the MS board but the moderator would delete my post. This board allows for alternative ideas about healing the body. There was a time I thought I might have MS but it turned out to be the dental work I had in my mouth. For sure you need to get your vitamin D to a good level because vitamins and minerals are the way your body repairs itself. The doctor you go to will tell your how he wants to treat your disease but every doctor does not use the same treatment. You need to get all the information and make it your decision. Dr. Swank and Dr. Wahls have programs for treating MS and they do not use drugs. Drugs do not slow down the progression of the disease. Drugs just cover up the problem. Dr. McDougall explains it in this Utube video.

I am sorry you feel so unwell. I have a condition known as antiphospholipid syndrome (also known as HUGHES SYNDROME during pregnancy). What you describe sounds just like what I experienced 10 years ago.
Not to scare you, but it is blood clots (can be tiny). I had incredibly heavy limbs, eyes were very funky, I was exhausted and lots of pain and twitching.
I went a long time without a diagnosis...I ended up going to a hematologist at the University of Kansas and he knew immediately. The only thing the other docs found was low Vitamin D (very common with autoimmune).
I suspect you many have connective tissue thing going on...not necessarily the clotting problem that I have but something akin, perhaps.
Do you have a University hospital near you? If so, insist that they give you a referral to a hematologist or rheumatologist. Please don't wait. I had a larger stroke after a series of smaller storkes at age 30 . Life is good now but it has been a journey. Please google connective tissue disease, or anitphospholipid syndrome to see if it is similar to your experiences.
