Our DK is also following the Dr. J method. He started with MWF for 2 weeks on, 1 week off, then eventually moved to 3 weeks on, 1 week off and started but had to stop and re-treat 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. We are building back toward that. He has been on abx for 16 months though. We found it much more gentle on the system and effective as well.
I threw all sorts of herbs at DS at the beginning too when he started abx and it was too much for his system so I decided to cut those (except the detox ones: burbur pinella, cilantro and parsley extracts in lemon water) and DS did better. I hope to use herbs more on the back end of treatment as we start backing off the abx.
Are you using a good probiotic, taken at least 2 hours away from abx? For example, DS drinks about 1/3 c of kefir nightly when he takes his probiotic (highly recommend Primal Defense Ultra because it has s. boullardi which is critical if on long-term abx - his LLNP requires this one). We just do 1 capsule and a few times a week I add in a second probiotic that has other strains. I've also heard bone broth is super soothing to the stomach.
