Dr. K says some critters like Borrelia know how to lower body temperature: low body temperature is then a lyme disease symptom.
Bb does that to weaken immune responses. If my memory is good, 1 degree less in body temperature raises the number of active pathogens to 50% more or so!
This is because enzymes do not work well = metabolism does not work well = low immunity.
I think though that candida also lowers body temperature. Excess of toxins too (herxes always lowered mine).
During lyme, everyone will bump into thyroid problems and treat that (it will help a bit, in my experience). Anyway, thyroid hormone balancing is a must for any immune related problem.
If after that, temperature is still low, antimicrobials may help (as weakening some pathogens such as Borrelia will make your body temperature raise a bit)
I had chronic low body temperature all my life. I suspect that mercury toxicity during my whole life (at least since I was 8-10 years old) made my thyroid messy...
People with warmer bodies usually do not fall ill with chronic infections. That is one reason why some people fare very well with saunas, or heat, I suspect. Hyperthermia kills cancer cells, but also reactivates the immune system.
I have been recently treating my hormones, and I do think it helped me increase body temperature (estradiol, pregnonelone...). At least, for the first time in my life, I sweat after eating, if the temperature is high. It never happened before, I think. I'm 50, and spent my whole life feeling cold, rarely sweating.
I suspect dr. K. is right in saying that the higher the body temperature, the less infections you let develop, just because your enzymes start working, boosting your immunity!
