Would these results be considered Lyme positive by and LLMD?

Hope all is well. I would like to get your advice and help on what to do?

I have been suffering with the worst mysterious sickness of my life for > 2 years now and no one in the world can figure out what is wrong. It all started with a simple cold-like fatigue after a workout that never went away. I would wake up in the morning, my eyes would be swollen, they would hurt, i would feel spacey, tired, and dizzy, and horrible brain fog. And the Insomnia, the insomnia, the insomnia is torture. My joints has always been in low grade pain but they significantly increased in the past 6 years. and recently my jaw muscles have been hurting really bad (TMJ?), and it may be contributing to the eye/sinus pain I guess. I also have bad eyelid twitching that comes in cycles.

I have done all the panels and testing you can think of multiple times since I work in a lab AND at diffrent labs (Repeated blood chemistry panels, hormones, subcutaneous and scratch skin allergy tests, vitamins, CT scans, repeated WBC counts, hair analysis, saliva hormones, and was about to even do a sleep study etc...) and yet everything would come to a great NEGATIVE with the exception of slightly elevated ANA and low-normal neutrophil count. RBC Magnesium was also low-normal as well as DHEAs.

Initially, few of the docs tested me for lyme, EBV, CMV via screen tests and all were negative. and so the "viral/bacterial"-induced fatigue hypothesis was scratched off my list for most of the time.

However, recently after more searching, including this forum, I decided to send my serum to Quest for western blot lyme panel. And I know that Quest may not be the best but I couldn't resist the <$100 test, so I thought why not.
Well I got the test back and I was positive for IgG bands 23 and 41, but not IgM.

Now since my symptoms are indicative of lyme, and with the positive lyme-specific bands from Quest, would and LLMD consider this as a diagnosis? Do I need to do the Igenex test?

Welcome to the forum... sorry you're here but glad you found us. Working in a lab would seem to have some advantages, but for a Lymee!

I agree with everything Girlie shared. Band 23 is one of those Lyme-specific bands, so along with your symptoms, should be a "classic" clinical dx. You just need to find the right LLMD to partner with.

Yes working in a lab can be advantageous. Its so tempting though since I can easily draw blood and then run to the analyzers to see whats up.
It's indeed comforting to finally land on something to put your energy and fight on, instead of going around on circles trying to figure out what is going on.

Unfortunately our lab does not perform infectious disease testing, but we do a lot of immunological (flow cytometry & autoimmune markers) and molecular testing (including genetic polymoprhisms-->MTHFRs, etc...). Of course we also do the typical chemistry/hematology panels.

Out of all of the infections you mentioned the only one I tested negative for was EBV through EIA, so if I do meet an LLMD I will discuss with them co-infections if they don't bring it up.
Right now as I am reading through this forum I am thinking of planning an herbal method. The reason is, and it may not be a good one, is that when my symptoms first started I was treated with Amoxicillin for 3 weeks since we first thought it was a chronic sinus infection causing brain fog and fatigue. However, I didn't really feel anything from it, in fact my symptoms got worse over time. But it could be that something like doxycyclin would work better on lyme.

There is for sure a lot to learn and I am excited to get a treatment going.

Thank you Traveler for your awesome advice! This is a great community and I am glad I am here.I am feeling more and more inclination toward the herbal route, once I design a healing plan (herbs+secondary supplements) I will post it in here for your suggestions and in case I miss something.
