For anyone already up on their doses, these combos would help in lowering how much to deal with. And in your situation particularly - with everyone in treatment - it would really simplify things.

The big thing is that the person should trial each of these herbs one at a time first to check for reactions is all - as you said.

I know that when I would travel I washed out 2 ounce used herb bottles. I then put my many individual herb drops into those bottles. It was an easy way to take all my herbs in a restaurant.

This worked well and I was certainly in control of the amount of each individual herb.

My only problem with combo herbs is you are not in control of each individual herb. If you need more Hawthorn, for example, you are still going to have to buy that individual herb to add.

And the cost??? I don't know that it is any less expensive. Most combo tinctures I have seen are not less expensive. I found my huge expense savings was always buying large or bulk.

Please let me know if the expense is less. I am curious as to how you switch from one protocol to another also.

I've also had great experience ordering Woodland Essence, and I'm in Canada.

The one issue I have with tinctures that combine 4 or 5 herbs is the shear amount of tincture you have to drink to get the adequate amount of each herb in your system.

At a certain point, the alcohol content becomes a factor.

When I was doing Buhner, I preferred to do a select few herbs via tincture, and the rest via powder.

Less alcohol, and about 5 million times cheaper (two weeks of tincture = 3 months of powder).

As others have already suggested, it sounds like a call to Woodland Essence could prove very helpful.

I've never used the combo herbs only because I wound up being one of "those people" who needed larger doses to heal. I can't see how combo bottles would work well for those still titrating. And, with my large-dose needs, I'd blow through the combo bottles even faster than I blew through single herbal tinctures.

Now that I'm taking stable doses of herbs, I prepare my own set of combo bottles for the week. Since I dose 3x per day, I make 21 bottles at a time.

I take 2 oz amber bottles and measure in the various doses of the various herbs I take. When it's time for a dose, I'll add pomegranate juice and water to the bottle, shake and chug ;)

I keep track of my daily dosing by keeping the day's supply of doses (3 combo bottles) in a separate area of my cabinet.....and having those 2 oz bottles ready to grab when heading out the door is quite nice ;)

And, I'm with Mustard Seed and Trav in regards to making our own plant medicines. I've been making my own tinctures for over a year now. I used to dose JK powder directly (along with Cordyceps powder) but it got old (not convenient, really). Now, I'm encapsulating JK powder, Cat's Claw, Cordyceps and MSM (that I used to dose directly and that was gross lol).

CD, for years I put MSM in my drinking water. I always had a bottle of water where ever I went. My grandson got thirsty one day and asked if he could have a drink of my water. I didn't even think about it having MSM in it. He took a swig and spit it out all over the place (luckily we were at an outside event). I was so used to the sulfur taste of MSM and totally forgot it was in my water.

It then became a common statement by my grandchildren "don't drink Grandma's water!" LOL

with 4 doses a day, I definitely would go with the least stressful and most convenient.

It really sounds like you have a plan that is working for the family and that is all that matters.

My llmd had me on 2 combo tinctures from Researched Nutritionals, plus samento (and burbur /pinella continuing for detox ) I started at 5 drops each and worked up to ongoing dose of 30 drops each . I think they are stronger. ... at least I know they are plenty strong enough to cause a herx if ramped up to fast! !

I purchased two combination herbals, "Neurocore" and "Japanese Knotweed Plus" and I have been on them for about a week now. I am not one to herx, but I am fairly certain these are causing me to herx. I have had some pretty bad eye pain, dull headaches, and foot pain, all symptoms that I were mostly resolved until these combo herbals. I dove right in at a full dropper of each twice a day.

Any feedback from anyone on the sida plus? How is it?

I too got the Knotweed Plus last month. For $2 more for a 4 oz bottle I thought it was a bargain to eliminate my separate Cat's Claw tincture, and add the other stuff as well. I take 2 dropper fills twice a day.

I'm interested in any info on Sida Plus. I'm ready to rotate back to CSA when my Hout runs out next week, but may try sida plus instead.

FYI...after looking at my notes on herbs the Sida Plus is for Babs but should be a good start for Bart and Myco. However additional herbs will be needed for those like the new IHA combo tinc. However I have concerns about Isatis since I found that it can destroy good gut microbes and should not be taken longer than a couple weeks when taken alone. But the article I did read said it can be taken longer when combined with other herbs, it just didnt say how long...lol uhhhgg.

There are some things I need to take individually, but I have relied mostly on combined tinctures for my antimicrobials. My schedule is something every 30 minutes from 7am until 11pm with about a 3 hr window in the afternoon. It's brutal.

But there were tinctures I reacted to and had to stop and try something else. That is frustrating when you're trying to understand why you react to something and not something else if they are all antimicrobials. I developed GI attacks from Byron White A-bart - so severe I landed in the ER. I think I narrowed down the triggering factor to two herbs. I went on IV vanco and I'm much better now so maybe I wouldn't react the same way with the bacterial load much lower now. But the journey to figure out one herb at a time could have taken too long.
