Has anybody else tried Ayahausca to heal their Lyme symptoms?

Before I knew I had this and was sick for years, I went to a shaman and did Ayahausca 4x, which did help the depression completely for years. Then I almost went to Peru for a 10 day Ayahausca retreat.. but found out I had Lymes right before I left and realized it could only help so much.

But it did help me with so much emotional trauma and things I carried around with me and tried to heal for most my life.. it was mind blowing, I really felt better than I had in my entire life after doing it, and saw everything so much more clearly.. so much wisdom.. and so I also felt better in my body too, most my symptoms went away for a long time.

Anyway, my Naturopath at the time who started treating me for Lymes with herbs told me doing Ayahausca would be too hard on my liver, because of how it makes you purge and cleans out your body, that detoxying from Lyme ontop of all that would be too much. I guess it could be ok to do if you weren't on all the herbs for awhile before-hand so you weren't detoxying so hard?

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried it and what their experience has been like?

I don't think it will cure it, as it doesn't kill the bacteria.. but it does help with the symptoms and psychological aspect of things and who knows what else it could help or cure, it does make the body very alkaline.

There are lots of great retreats in Peru where it is legal. Its should be legal here, it's known to of healed people from all kinds of things. there are "churches" here in the USA where it is legal, but I heard crazy things about those places..

Hate to burst that bubble but i've done plenty of DMT and i'm still sick :P I will say it is an excellent antiinflammatory though! I've got an aya ceremony coming up in a month or so i'm going to have to skip because i'm worried about my herbs interacting. I really wish i knew if i could take knotweed and do it at the same time. I've taken other hallucinogens while sick and i can say that the antiinflammatory qualities are very strong and on the psychospiritual level there is a great depth of healing. On the physical level it amounts more to a holistic adjuvant (like massage or meditation) than anything directly curative. Though ayahuasca might be different. I know they use it to get rid of intestinal parasites so idk it's strength as an antibacterial. I haven't done aya since getting sick so i don't know how i'd react to it these days

I would disagree with the DMT thing. I would say there is a dose you need to reach, but it's far from being totally removed. One of my favorite doses is subbreakthrough. Maybe around 30mg. The room becomes filled with aztec patterns and intelligent beings but there is still a room after all. Though even the breakthrough doses aren't so scary. Of all the psychedelics it is the most euphoric and blissful. The one that has least tendency to mess with your body and head. It feels very organic. Like you were meant to be there. And it fills you with light and love and tells you universal secrets and then gently lays you back down as all the beings wave good bye to you slowly fading back through the walls. Most of the anxiety comes preflight. Or during the first puff or two when you feel your body and mind shift but you are kind of stuck between two worlds with anticipation of what lays on the other side. I have literally relieved negative experiences by smoking more of it just to make the full transition. But again, still not to the point of being totally gone.

Ayahuasca on the other hand can be freakin brutal. Much like going on a DMT trip except for 4 hours where doubts about your sanity and safety start to creep in. Of course, ayahuasca also has much more healing potential as a result. Two nights of it literally cured my depression and that was almost 4 years ago.

do you mostly do psilocybin mushrooms? that's interesting on the anti-inflammatory aspects you notice. I've just discovered this show on Vice (watching Vice, an admission I'm not too proud of haha) called Hamilton's Pharmacopeia, I quite like it and find the episodes interesting. I saw an episode on these type of mushrooms last night, it was interesting. I've only done them once but am interested in trying again. I also caught an episode on the history of MDMA, mescaline, and synthetic drugs in that arena, it was really fascinating filled with all sorts of amazing characters, crazy chemistry professors and iconoclastic characters! the history is truly wild. of course vice is vice and has the hipster vicebro thing going but overall I like the show so far.

When I became sick it was during a period of extreme self-loathing and abuse. For a long time I thought my symptoms were psychosomatic, so I took some mushrooms--it caused my symptoms to flare up like crazy. Worst trip ever. Cannabis causes similar, but less dramatic, flares if I'm having a herx or something.

Now that I know I'm infected I'm waiting until I'm much further along in my healing to try such things. That said I have learned a lot from all this and I plan to employ these substances one day. I feel that there is a psychological and spiritual aspect to all of this, though it's probably not the totality. Also, everyone is different and has different things they need to address, so I think it's worth it if the individual feels they are ready and will benefit.

When I did Ayahausca for the first time (2 nights in a row), I had Lymes for 6 un-diagnosed years at that point, and didn't know what was wrong with me, scared to death as to what was happening to me.. my brain was not functioning on all 4 cylinders whatsoever. I could not form clear sentences nor plan out things in a day like Laundry, meals.. I was only getting 2 hours of sleep a night.. through a series of unfortunate circumstances, I also was living in my van in complete poverty, unable to function or see a doctor to see what was wrong, other than a few emergency room visits, I was lost and scared (although I had a job) in the streets of San Francisco, trying to keep my life together was futile. I was unraveling at the seams. Ayahausca was my last resort.

What Ayahausca did for my non- working brain was WAKE IT UP! Like, in a good way. Also, I didn't vomit once. All 4 ceremonies I never got sick, which is strange as I was with 12 others who all got sick, I was the only one who didn't.

It was almost as if I was spared by the Ayahausca gods for all I have already went through, she took pity on me and brought my brain back to life! but I also stuck to the sacred Dieta with extreme dedication (which I am writing a book on now) which really does help you from getting sick or having bad "experiences".

My brain wasn't completely back to where I was, but I could sleep again and form sentences, and it also gave me hope and a just a grounded sense of feeling good to be alive.. I ended up being able to function enough to find some extra work, get a place to live off the streets, I was engaged by the next year and my entire life was a billion x better. I really don't know if I would be alive today if I didn't do that plant medicine.

I do believe it has the capacity to flow through channels in your brain that are stronger, its organic, so i think it works with your strengths and its been proven (In a lab) to wake up all areas of your brain, in a good way, increase Serotonin.. all kinds of good things. However, its not for everyone, and should be used with caution the first time.. this will all be in the book I am writing about it (a guidbook).

There is a girl who is all over Youtube who has Lyme, (Aurianna joy) I highly recommend all Lymies to watch her stuff, its transnational and inspirational to say the least... she has had it since she was a child, and went to Peru for many months doing the medicine to cure herself of it, she still has symptoms she told me, but she claims it healed many of the spiritual things she attributed to suffering from having Chronic Lymes.

No way buddy you missed out!! The Ayahuasca purge was one of the most cathartic experiences of my life. All of them actually... lol i purged every time.

Sorry guys, I´ve tried Ayahuasca a month before Lyme symptoms and it was the most hard experience that I ever had. I think that it was so traumatical that this trigger my Lyme, because that stress lower my inmune system.

I do not recomend it at all.
