Hi Traveler~
HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment) refers to pressures over 1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute).
mHBOT (Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment) refers to pressures 1.5 ATA and below.
Generally speaking, there are different protocols to treat different conditions.
Certain conditions require treatment at higher pressures (e.g., wound healing, osteomyelitis, the bends, etc.). The protocol for these conditions may vary in the number of treatments required.
Other conditions, particularly neurological, respond more favorably to mild pressures (e.g., brain injury, stroke, dementia, Parkinson's, MS, autism, CFS, chronic conditions, etc.). The protocol for these conditions may also vary in the number of treatments required.
Higher pressure treatments are generally limited to a certain number over a shorter term, and done in a clinical setting.
Mild pressure treatments are sometimes limited to a certain number, but can also be ongoing over time for chronic conditions. The treatments can be done in a clinical setting, or using a home chamber.
